Genuine sale: I realise that anyone selling a top of the range piece of kit online can seem suspicious, so I invite you to give me a call on 07855 944608.

Reason for sale: I purchased this laptop for a specific project that has since changed dramatically. As such, it is now vastly overpowered for my needs, and if possible I need to cut the loss on it and get one of the bargain dell ones instead.

Spec: the laptop was bought directly from the apple store and is the spec as noted there ( http://store.apple.com/Apple/WebObjects/ukstore.woa/61024042/wo/SW3OMFy8oZhq2A0wxv61XGpH5CH/0.PSLID?mco=26BBDC17&nclm=MacBookPro )

17-inch widescreen display
1680 x 1050 resolution
2.16GHz Intel Core Duo (1)
2GB (single SODIMM) 667MHz DDR2 SDRAM
120GB 5400-rpm Serial ATA hard drive
8x double-layer SuperDrive
ATI Mobility Radeon X1600 with 256MB GDDR3 memory
One FireWire 400, one FireWire 800, and three USB 2.0 ports

Please note that I upgraded the laptop to 2GB ram, and chose the non-glossy screen option (i looked into it and the gloss one is apparently good for films but not for hard work). The laptop has had very little use and you will benefit from the 3-year warranty. (You only get a 1 year one from apple as standard, and I'm sure you'll agree you wouldn't want to rely on that with a piece of kit costing over two grand)

The price I'm looking for is £1750, but will consider close offers if it doesn't go for that. Please let me know if you have any questions, and I invite all comments to the thread, private messages, or phone calls. All the best.

I offer £1000

The MacBook Pro is much sought after, particularly the top of the line 17-inch model. The one detailed costs £2,100 brand new. I seriously don't think he's going to sell it for less than half-price...

If I had the money I'd offer you £1600, but alas I just purchased a 24-inch iMac and money is now scarce :p
