This car is like a rough girlfriend. Treats you well but your pretty embarrased to be seen with her, let alone in her.

Bought this as I thought I would be sensible when I owned the 2.3 V5 also advertised here. I thought it would come in even more useful now I got another very thirsty car. However, basically I simply don't use it enough to spend money on it taxing it and insuring it.

It runs spot on, the bodywork lets it down though. I didnt buy it for it to be pretty, I bought it to get me from A-B, to move stuff with etc. It's done all of that, drove up to Manchester and back in a day a couple of weekends ago in it (600 mils trip). Never misse's a beat and it did the 600 mile trip on a tank of fuel (roughly 42 quid at todays prices).

Anyway,

N reg
118k (these engines are pretty bullet proof though)
No options whatsoever, apart from a worn steering wheel and a free handbrake
TDI, either 90bhp or 110bhp. I confess I have never bothered to check.
Fast enough for a diesel engine.
Tax is up now, gonna get another 6 months for it.
Tyres are all legal, one will need changing in about 5k miles.
About 9 months MOT
56 miles per gallon

Also comes with a back seat, wipers, a fully functioning windscreen and a carpet which needs hoovering, you just can't buy that kinda thing elsewhere.

Oh, and it has full service history, only the last one which I did myself as I'm a scrooge. (Cost £32 to service the oil, oil filter and air filter).

Scratches everywhere.
A couple of dents, but the dents come with a history. The girlfriend of the previous owner kicked it a couple of times. Adds character.
A hole in the front bumper, from someone who reversed into me with a towbar!
A major scratch in the rear bumper where I decided to drive up a wall (was a good idea at the time!)

Based in Devon, looking for around £1000 as these engines still pull a premium price and I know the bodywork isnt great, it's not even good.

PM for more info.

Oh, and it also now comes with roof racks! Excellent for putting the girlfriend on so she can't sit next to you nagging like a ferrit on speed :-D

No longer for sale, decided to keep it to run around in. I just started it for the first time after 3 weeks of it sitting there. Started instantly. Too good an engine to let go.

Wise move grdesign..it'll run for ever if you change the oil at regular intervals...I change mine every 6000 miles and it pays dividends as my previous Honda did 140k without using any oil between changes...it ran as sweetly as when new when I sold it for a measly £800...am doing likewise with my Civic diesel and 3 years in it hasn't used a drop of oil and does 50/55 to a gallon...and I rarely do long runs.

Prior to Hondas I had VWs and they served me as well.

Well it's to sit alongside the R32 I run. After starting quicker than the R32 after 3 weeks of sitting there doing nothing in the freezing temp's, I was impressed. It never drinks any oil, never gives me any problems, just looks pretty rough.

Will have to start using it more and keeping the mileage on it. Also, next weekend will probably give it another service as I was going to do it for the buyer anyway, just do it myself as it's easy enough, especially on that engine.

I've always had VW's. The best ones were the ones like this, that didn't have 100 electronic sensors to go wrong.

118k miles, 10 years old, not bad really. I'd certainly rely on it!
