I'm selling my old Focus it is a 1.8LX ford focus 5 door petrol, manual gearbox. Car has A/C and Power steering.

Looking for £200 ONO

Car is a non-runner following a breakdown on the motorway, timing belt has gone. Was planning to use car for scrappage but I only owned it for 10 months (my dad owned it for 2 years). Car is in good condition apart from timing belt and is ideal for spares or a mechanic.
Car will need to be collected and towed.

Okay mate, well my mate is very possibly interested and I'm on the phone with him at the moment waiting for the nod to make an offer. Would you be able to provide a link a bigger version of the pic in the OP though, as it's obviously a bit small as it stands!

Sorry mate, he's decided not to go ahead. He was considering buying it to fix up and sell on, but doesn't think he'd be able to make a worthwhile profit.

im tempted at 150 see what i can do with it

milage on it
whats the faults if any other than the timing chain?
#17
If its due a timing belt change it's one thing, but if the timing belt has snapped causing damage to the engine it's another. I take it the belt has snapped so it's basically a head strip/replacement or complete engine swap?

If it's the latter your description is wrong as its far from 'ok, apart from the timing belt' The valves could be (are) bent involving a lot more cost.
#18
It's not a change, the belt did snap which is why it's advertised as a non-runner, I'm sure it could be fixed if you had the know how, if not used as spares. Mileage was about 92,000 I think.

My mate's theory was that if this happened while driving on the motorway, then at the speeds the car would have been travelling, the valves would have definitely been seriously mashed up and that he was looking at a new engine. I don't think Bkennor is trying to mislead anyone here, I get the impression they are simply not aware of whether it's a new belt or something more severe.

Yeah it happened on the motorway on my way to a holiday hence the half tank. Like I said I bought a new car pretty much straight after so I never bothered looking into repairing it. The AA guy said it could probably be repaired but may also just be used for spare parts.
#21
If anyone wants to view it your welcome to.
#22
Anyone interested?
#23
bump
#24
is the car still available
#25
yes
#26
Anyone interested?
#27
Could you get a quote for repair?
#28
It would be expensive to get a garage to do it which is why I haven't. The car would be best for parts or for a mechanic.
#29
i am interested in the car please call me on xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

regards
stuart
