Had this kicking about that I removed from an old unit when I upgraded the RAM and turned it into a server. Kinda worthless but figured somone out there was usig a computer which would support this and could do with the extra write space.

This will work in pretty much all desktop computers (NOT laptops) and it will likely be a couple of years old. I removed it from a Pentium 4/Celeron D computer so if your computer has one of these then this might help you.

Post, don't PM and it goes on a first come first serve basis. Please don't ask for it if your not gonna use it, let folks who need it have it.
Shipping/Payment:
Free. :)

you should have put it in a new message. You could have wrote anything then edited it.

Obv up to the OP but i would give it to #2

Why would I write 'anything'? If he's giving it for free, and I see it, and I can use it, I would obviously ask for it!

And yes it's up to the OP, but no doubt because of you people he will now give it to the poster after me, but oh well I guess.

Bhav007,

You didn't edit the post to amend that your computer was compatible, you amended it to add the phrase "May I have it please?" Courtesy does go a long way and I'm happy that you amended it. In future, don't bother lying about it, it always gets found out. A bit of honesty to say "I didn't say please ... :shy:" would have sufficed perfectly well. Integrity can only be judged by the few written posts one makes so making sure they're all positive ones is sound advice.

Either way, I'm going to offering the RAM module to poster no. 2, but not because of the "editing". I noticed Bhav007, that you were fortunate enough to get yourself a £10 DFS voucher the other day in your previous posts, so I thought it fair that as many HUKD members could benefit from the site as possible and accordingly will be sending it to bassman_uk. This decision is not based in any way negatively on your part, Bhav007. This site can get frustrating with people judging your responses in the wrong way, which is natural, and I understand that. Making sure that you let them know they are only mistaken, being honest and apologizing will bring an end to these "haters" you refer to.

This site is extremely positive and friendly, but there has been a lot of open critiques which I feel would be best sent by PM as opposed to openly posted. Its far to easy to missconstrue the nature of what people mean in text than it is verbally.

Thanks Xeres.....I have pm'd my info, and will be leaving you feedback and rep for you generosity.
I'm currently trying to build up a PC from spare parts, and this fits in the motherboard that I have, so I am chuffed about that - it has 512mb now.
I will be donating said built PC to a charity shop so they can sell it - some people on here know that I am trying to raise some money for SCOPE and I am trying different ways to achieve this :)

Ha, raising money for SCOPE eh? I work for them! Im a support worker for adults with wide ranging learning and physical difficulties and it pains me to see the technology in the homes, always in need of an update. Especially as its newer PC tech can make it useable for those with limited dexterity or visual/auditory issues. Its a shame you live so far away from me, check out my deals posting in a lil while. Could really help if you know of other places that could really do with the tech...

My daughter who is 3 has cerebral Palsy and we were lucky enough to be helped by a Field Worker in her last week of employment (as they made them all redundant through funding, as she was telling me)

Since then, I've wanted to give a little back, and have now found the energy to :)

criminy, that threads a minefield!!

...but how is the buyer going to be sure that the money goes to charity ?

You have to ask whether this will be making a difference on the purchase anyhow. Whether or not you donate the cash to charity is your perogative, I don't believe people buy things they don't need for the sake of charity. People purchasing are buying your things, thereafter it so happens your giving to charity. Nonetheless, I deviate.

Redundacies eh? Similar theme in the homes, very underfunded. I personally prefer donating direct to services than to the charity as a whole. Spent many an afternoon landscaping gardens and decorating houses with my friends to save them pennies here and there. I always fear the money kinda gets sucked into the system otherwise. But thats a personal reference issue, I don't mean to dissuade you at all. Im really gad you've had such a positive experience and I wish you well with your daughter and your endeavours. Feel like I can give myself a little gold badge for my nice deed of the day now, ha!

I've managed to overcome the 'How do we know you are donating' thing, as SCOPE give confirmation which I can then forward to those who want it, but yes, it seems sometimes when trying to do a good deed, it can backfire on you. Gladly though, not all the time :)
