Hello anybody there??
#5
has this been magicgate verified? 90% of pro duo's from ebay etc are copies from china, albeit very good ones, and they read as 4gb in windows etc, but in truth are a fraction of that, if when put in a psp, they show as non magicgate, in reality they're prob <1gb cards. lots of faqs on the net with comparisons

MikeBeaver was 1st to offer asking so it could go to them if the OP wanted it to
#7
Thanks Zeus, but would like him to deal with Simon_G first, it is only fair after all :P
Thats if Somin still wants it, if not I'll be glad to take it.

any reason why my message making potential buyers aware of the non magicgate issue was removed? it simply served to better inform people about the massive number of counterfeit products around.

elmore has this been magicgate verified?

Din not know your message had been removed!
yes it would likely be very important to know if this was MagicGate supported or not, thanks.

It did have a link inserted so that was perhaps why, a simple google of fake pro duo comparison will show.

Just to make clear, i am in no way suggesting this is the case with Elmore's pro duo, im just simply making people aware.
#11
Well you never know, it does all depend on the different types of writing on the back of the card, if it says MagicGate supported inside a PSP etc.

Mike..
#12
It says magicgate on the card itself and the packaging?
banned#13
Does it say at the bottom..

"XXXXGST/X" ?
#14
if you connect it to a psp, it will say if it is magicgate verified or not, the prin could be fake, did you buy it from a trusted high street store or on the internet? there is a huge market for counterfeit pro duo's and copies are almost exactly like the originals in appearance but not when checked for magicgate.
#15
at the bottom of the packaging it says MSX-M4GST/X, it has not been bought from eBay dont worry
banned#16
It's probably a fake then if it says GST/X

I'm 99% sure it is anyway..

Fake Part numbers:

[*]2GB (MSX-M2GST/X)
[*]4GB (MSX-M4GST/X)

?????

basically when you put that in an actual device, it will not actually have 4gb of usable space, probably less than half that.

here is a pic of the card in a psp, 3882MB usable memory

OK, cool.
Go to the main PSP xmb menu and press triangle button, it will let you see if magic gate is supported or not.

Mike..
#23
it says unknown??
#24
zoom your cam out though, does it say magicgate supported or not
#25
psp doesn't have any trouble recognising a magicgate supported card,
banned#26
It's fake, although if it holds 4GB fine then it's all good

it says unknown??

Ya, it's a fake then.
They work ok though, I alreday have one, but wanted to get an official 4gb, so I will withdraw my interest at current price, thanks,
