£543 Argos Gift Card/Vouchers £500.00

Hi,

I have £543 of Argos Gift Card vouchers that I'm looking to sell. If you have a big sale purchase then you might want to save some more money.

Basically I got them to purchase a new macbook with, but seems they aren't in stock in store, online only.

Only willing to let them go for £500 (sorry no offers, otherwise I'll keep them until a decent deal is on). Prefer to meet in person, can go to Argos with someone to verify if you like - I'm in the Lancashire area.

The amount is actually in 5 smaller amounts ranging from £89-£127u so could be split I guess.

Paul (I have 100+ feedback on Ebay, but guess if we meet in person it won't be needed)

Nice small number of posts here!

Most people on here will only pay up to 80% of the value of vouchers and not 92% like you want.

I'll start the ball rolling with an offer of £400 but would want the cards first to check they were genuine and still have money on them then I would send you the money

Sorry, guess we all have to start somewhere with posting!

As I said, £500, no offers, so anything else I'm not interested. If no one wants them for that (still better than paying with cash at 100%) then no problem, I can keep them.

Cheers though.

Sorry - given that they sell on eBay for lesss than 80% of face value, I doubt you'll have much joy here.

Just had a look, some gone for 80%, some for nearer 90%. Guess it depends on what the person needs - if you wanted something today or tomorrow in the sale then ebay not much point, if in lancs area I could meet you with them and you get an extra 40 quid off.

Thanks for advice though, like I said, may as well keep them myself and use them as they expire in 2011.

Just pointing out that at the start of this thread you had 3 posts and two of those are trying to sell these vouchers, you are also a new member.
And the first thread you post is asking people to give you £500 to gain 8% at most and possibly lose 100% of their money.
I am not stating you are not trustworthy but this deal looks decidedly dodgy especially as even if I meet you in person to exchange the money for the cards I would not be able to see the value left on the cards until I attempt to use them! So in my opinion you need to sweeten the deal by making it a better return for my hard earned money.

So until you change your mind to be open to offers I'm out

Good luck with your sale.

Thanks, I understand where you are coming from. Probably should have posted the first one straight here instead, and, well though I could meet someone with the vouchers in Argos and it could be checked.

I guess it's fairly specific, but thought i'd give it a try and it might have helped someone with a purchase. (Reminds me of the pirate memory games sketch).

Cheers anyway.

Thats not a joke. A lot of people offer to send first to build up their reputation. People also do half paymaent now and half on receipt and verification?checking of the item.

No matter how much feedback a person has, I would never send to an unknown person pre-payment. Perhaps I'm risk adverse and others are happier to do so, fair enough. Just because I'm a new member here, doesn't mean I haven't sold a few things.

Good luck finding some vouchers if you are in the market for them.

Fair play to them, sounds mad to me though! :)

I was fairly certain I said I would have prefered to meet the buyer in person, in the Lancs area. I didn't actually want to send them out.

Yes, I know, that's a limited market - but you never know if that someone is out there. Someone wants to buy a new TV in the sale for example, wants it today or tomorrow in case the sell out (hence ebay is out). I'd meet them, even at Argos to check they are valid, they've saved an extra 43 on something they wouldn't already. Good luck getting 500 quids worth of vouchers on ebay (with 80% off) and delivered in a day. I'd certainly go down the route if it was the position I was in.

Don't see the problem myself. I understand all the trust issues, I'm not stupid, but I'm not expecting anyone to send me 500 quid for them and me send later.

As I said, limited market, but you never know. You guys don't need to offer anything if it's not suitable for you, I'm not making you.

Not sure why it's expired now (automatic after a few hours, or someone else has done it?) but anyway, will sell elsewhere or use it myself.
