guiness01,
It's absolutely pointless to invest anything in socketA unless you will find genuine bargain. The CPU will be probably more expensive than much quicker contemporary processor, ram - too.
Get inexpensive branded mobo with integrated Graphic , AMD CPU, 1GB of DDR2 ram - will be cheaper and much quicker.

Someting like:
MSI K9AGM3-F 690V Socket AM2 onboard VGA 8 channel audio mATX Motherboard - £33
# qfc:
# AMD Athlon 64 LE-1620 SKT AM2 2.4 GHz L2 1MB Cache Energy Efficient 45w Retail Boxed Processor £26
# Kingston 1gb Ddr2 800mhz/pc2-6400 Hyperx Memory
Non-ecc Cl4 £18

Belive me, this bundle will be much faster, no matter how much you will spend on your SocketA computer.
Obviously, you can still sell your old parts on i.e. ebay and if you have branded parts you will get decent money for that.

If you have not found my props reasonable, the Barton XP2500 is probably one of the the best what you can get on socketA, especially if you are familiar with overclocking :p
Obviously, attractiveness of the offer depends on price ;) .

Thx 7777777 :). Thats absolutely right. If you combine it with a NF7-S you get some sweet overclocks - which is why I decided to couple those up when I bought them way back when
