I could try a faster payment transfer with bank if it lets me? takes about 2 hours usually for money to transfer across - I have a token meter and hate them - just glad gas is on monthly dd! If you want just pm me your sortcode, acct number and name on acct - dont woryy, perfectly safe as there is nothing I could do with that info! Nikki

Guess he is not online anymore?! Just thought the amount of times I give to charity and some poor guy has no electric and was willing to give a PS2 away for £8!! These electric payg meters are way dearer than normal meters - I put £20-£25 in a week yet only use just over £40 a month on gas - their unit costs are really high but sometimes its what your landlord prefers cos you cant run up a debt and leave them in a big pile of! I sold a couple of things on gumtree so have some extra cash and if I can help him out then that brightens up my weekend! And his LOL!

£8 for a PS2. Poor lad must be desperate. Luckily never lived in a house with those meters, but did stay in one for a week or so, they can be a nightmare.

yeah - very odd that there is no-one who can sub the OP a fiver!

or they could just knock on a few doors asking if any odd jobs need doing

some people dont have friends that are prepared to lend money.

this thread shows the goodness of hukd at times.

Agree, but maybe his friends are finding it hard just like him

Could be any reason - he could have had probs at home and left or a drastic change in circumstances and just be finding his feet but as he offered to sell something cheap and didnt come on begging, that why I made the offer. Times are hard for people, I'm lucky in fact I have family close by but not everybody has and the Uk has changed from the days when people used to help neighbours and people in trouble and has been for years...I find it sad that people have become more insular - I've even heard of it happening within families as people dont offer to help brothers, sisters, parents, grandparents etc, and sometimes its not money, its just time. The emphasis government put on saving is good but I think people are equating everything in life into pounds and pence, and looking down on those that dont have same abilities or who's life circumstances - problem childhood\marriage breakup or other major upheaval - make life like it was for most of us 70's and prior babies - when trips to cinema, meals out, takeaways and day trips were not taken as expected but something which was a treat! Not everyone is confident and a go getter and people who arent get criticised, and expected to change their whole personality if they do get a knock that sends them back down a few rungs on the ladder of life...

I laugh at my mum watching those extreme Makeover programms with her watery eyes at the end and laugh at americans over the top emotions and attutudes but I do love the community spirit they show.
