I only use the train once in a blue moon does anyone want to go halves on a family railcard?

I've skimmed the terms on the website. You can have 2 named adults on the card who do not have to be related but they have to be listed at point of purchase.

I only intend on using the card once for a trip to be made at the next bank holiday so you would have almost the whole years validity.

I had planned it like this (if anyone is interested and has a better idea I'm open to suggestions)

I buy the card in my name & list yours (hopefully for £15 if the code works:thumbsup: ) If the code doesn't £20.

I use the card for my trip, returning home 28th August.

I show you that your name is on the railcard and you pay me half the cost of the card by paypal or postal order either £10 or £7.50 and I post the card to you, If you want recorded delivery it'll be extra otherwise just normal first class.

My ebay id is rosiephoenix if you want to look me up 100% positive feedback.

Dont think that will work, I tried to use one before and you need 2 passengers at least on 1 journey otherwise no discount is made.
You cant use a family railcard if you are on your own. Im pretty sure the guard will turn round and say.. "wheres your family?"
I am taking my children on a trip to see Grandma which is where the family railcard bit comes in. You don't have to name the children on the card but you do have to name the adults.

My mum and her friend used to do this years ago as 2 adults and 4 children can travel on one card at once.

Opps, sorry!

Have a rail card that only I have signed. Will sell for £10
Will it work? When I read the terms on national rail it said the 2 adults had to be named on the card at time of purchase.
When I bought the card I was told that the second person signing didn't need to be present (and he wasn't!) and just to get him to sign the card later.

My name is on the front of the card as I bought it, but the back is blank. In fact just looking at it I haven't even signed the back yet!! i thought I had.

I travelled a couple of times on it at Christmas last year and at the beginning of this year and every time I showed the pass not one guard asked to see the signatures on the back!
I've been on the national rail website again, the code does work to buy it at £15 for the whole year. Bigblueballoon - I'll buy your one but not at £10 when it's only valid till November, I might still be able to get someone interested in a bargain for 11 months validity.:)

Thanks though

No probs
Will be buying the card this Friday - Anyone interested please get in touch before then
no-one interested????
If they were then i think they might of posted.
