Late-2008 Aliminium Macbook.

Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHz
4 GB 1066 MHz RAM
250 GB Hard Drive
MAC OSX v10.6.4 Snow Leopard
108 Battery Cycles (still get full battery)

In fantastic, as new condition - has been used with complete care.
Comes boxed with manuals, discs, charger, and official MiniDisplayPort to DVI Adapter (worth £20)

This is the last model before they were renamed MacBook Pro. These are absolutely identical to the current MacBook Pro looks-wise except under the screen it says MacBook rather than MacBook Pro.

Current MacBook Pro's cost £999 for same spec, grab a bargain, £350 cheaper and the satisfaction of knowing your getting a great deal!

If you are interested, please PM me *as well* as post, I don't always check this page.

This was the better, beefier version at the time - and comes with all the MacBook Pro features such as keyboard backlighting, LED Display etc. - identical to Macbook Pro!!

Any Apple Care with this?
#4
unfortunately not - but Apple are the most reliable things on the planet (for me) - I still have a Powerbook G4 working A OK, along with 3 other MAC desktops - and never had a problem! This machine hasn't had much use at all.. literally has been used to check Facebook and emails - that is all.

I have an iMac and iPhone so certainly know the build quality of apple. Just would notnlike tonpaybout that much for something which has no warranty (apple care).

May be able to do 450

£450?! you are joking right?! The lower spec model of this (the late 2008 2.26 GHz, 2 GB Ram, 160 GB Hard Drive, no keyboard backlit) still sells easily on eBay for £600 (I know, I sold one last week and have been watching others)

I will match the £600, just because I don't want this one waiting around too long, but I can promise you, for £450 you will not get an Aliminium Unibody MacBook - just a normal MacBook.

These things are solid - repaires aren't majorly expensive - and most parts can be replaced yourself if your a wee competent.

Ok, my bad. Didn't see that. Bit a way from me in Liverpool.

I have a bit of a dilemma here with a few options which includes apple store education discount which u could get. Brand new, warranty, for about 800-850.

Ill get back to you. But don't wait round if someone comesnin with an offer go ahead.
#11
Like I said, the item will be 48 hour couriered so no need to collect, unless you really want to.

And yeah £850, so £200 more for a 12 month warranty on exactly the same spec machine.. ouch.

Sorry I have to say this, otherwise any buyers will mistakenly think this and the new one are the same.

This one doesn't have SD card slot, not built-in battery, battery lasts about 4 hours, and no warranty.

The new one you can buy from the shop, £850 (this price can be obtained via HE store btw) = brand new sealed + 3 years warranty + 8-9 hours battery on normal usage + SD card slot

Apart from that you are right about they are having the same specs, apart from the 9400M graphic card (your one) and 320M graphic (new one) and those above.

And I think £600 is a very fair price for this.

HE store? And the 3 year warranty can't be standard Apple?

And yes, this doesn't have an SD slot (but you can buy a USB adapter for about 60p on ebay), has the advantage of a removable battery so you can carry a spare, battery lasts 4+ hours like stated and has no warranty.

Higher Education store, and free 3 Years Apple Care (3 years Hardware, 1 year phone support). Of course you can buy Apple Care as standard, costs over £200 on its own

Right, I'm on the HE store website - but it won't let me go any further as I'm not on a University network - so explain to me how everyone can get this? :)

Don't think I can start counting the 'possibility-of-friends-in-Uni's-to-get-discount-on-Apple' as a valid reason to drop the price at all.

£600, lowest. :)
#18
Shame I would probably push to £500. :p

Does yours have NVIDIA GeForce 320M graphics card like the new ones? If not, which one?
#20
I believe it has a 9400M

That's fab. And the included postage is Royal Mail Standard Parcels but I can upgrade it to DHL Courier if you are willing to pay an extra £6 - your call. Send me your e-mail address, and I'll money request you on PayPal - or if you'd prefer to pay by Bank Transfer (which is preferred as there is no fees, and I can ship straight away) - let me know. :)
