I bought this iphone from gumtree on the o2 network but had to jailbreak in order to unlock it as I am on Orange. Now when I put my Orange sim in the phone I get no signal even though it is meant to be unlocked. I managed to get an o2 sim card to test it and there was no signal either.

I have now put a t-mobile sim card in there and it works fine. Other than this, everything appears to be fine. Please only buy this if the above isn't a problem to you and you are t-mobile. I haven't test voda or 3 as I don't have a sim card.

The phone is under apple warranty until next April, so I am guessing that you may be able to get it sorted?

I have explain the exact nature of the fault so no refunds, only buy if you know what you are doing and if you know how to use a jailbroken iphone. Phone is in good condition

Phone and charger only.

seems a bit rich for something thats faulty ?
#3
Take to an apple shop! Trust me I've had same problem! Bloody gum tree
#4
sound like the phone is permenantly blocked so no sim card will work in it. In effect a brick as you cant unblock it. useful for spares and thats about it. you wont get anywhere near 240 for it in that cond on here though. :)
#5
If under warranty as said they told me phone was knackered but exchanged it for replacement! Worth a try!!
#6
I can give you £120 if it works for t-mobile.
#7
£140 del here.
[mod]#8
well i think you know its blocked asking questions in misc
#9
Not sure if this is same problem I had a year ago , I bought 1 from e bay 6 months later stopped working , only to find out person I bought it off still had it under contract and reported phone lost so o2 blocked phone

So you have jailbroken it, have you actually unlocked it by downloading and installing ultrasn0w?

Just there is no mention of it and jailbreaking a phone will not automatically unlock it.

I would pay £1.99 and get a check mend report to see if it has been blocked/reported stolen here

Open to offers! People always offer lower on here so no harm in starting high!

That's the thing with gumtree no kind of protection at all. If it does turn out to be blocked and I take it to apple, what will happen? WIll they keep it?

Probably not but I will listen to offers :p Do you have any idea why T-mobile still works? That's the only reason why I listed the phone for sale on here. If any one is interested and the are local, I am happy for them to come and see it working fully.

Thanks for the offers guys, will consider. Will wait for a few more and get back to you.

Of course I know what a blocked phone is, who doesn't? When did I say I didn't know? It still works on t-mobile which is why I have listed it.

Ahh I see, did you try jailbreaking and unlocking yours?

Yes I actually followed steps on youtube to both jailbreak and unlock. I will buy one of these reports later. I want to take the phone to apple but I am worry about what they would do if it does turn out to be blocked!

EDIT: Sorry I made a mistake, it is under warranty until February, not April. I am adding a screen shot of the warranty page to my first post.

ukdeals, as you are asking £240 for a mobile that may be potentially blocked, we are locking the thread until you can show that its not blocked (eg using the checkmend link above or taking it to an Apple store). Once you have further proof / info please send it in via the report link for MOD review, but don't relist in the meantime and don't offer this item in any other thread.
