Apple Macbook 13" Aluminium Model - like new (5 days old) £700.00

I brought this to treat myself, but just cannot adjust from a laptop to a macbook, the change is to different for me.

I first used the laptop 5 days ago, and it has had very little use since then - it is like new and in perfect condition.. there are no marks or scratches etc.

One thing worth mentioning - it has the UK keyboard etc and is the UK model, but for some reason it came with a European power cable...I will include a plug adaptor though so it works fine, or a UK cable is cheap off somewhere like ebay..

The apple link is:

http://www.apple.com/uk/macbook/

13"
2.0GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
2GB
160GB Serial ATA; 5400-rpm
8x SuperDrive (DVD±R DL/DVD±RW/CD-RW)
Built-in iSight camera
NVIDIA GeForce 9400M graphics processor

I will get pics up later tonight...but is in as new condition, boxed with everything you get when buying from store...

Any questions feel free - i recognize i am new and will post out first if i feel happy that you are genuine.

Price = £700 or very decent offers accepted - £799 to buy on apple refurb site!
Thanks

Just out of interest though what would you have to trade?
#5
not to sound like a annoying poster, but why don't you just take it back and get a refund? its within its 14 days?? only reason I know is because my best friend works at apple.

Do you still have the apple receipt with it?
#6
seems a good deal, a pic with your user name in would be nice though (no offense), as still a fair chunk of cash involved (may well be interested though!)
#7
Hi there, would you trade with sony vaio 15.4 inch notebook Intel core 2 duo 5400 + cash (250£)?

spontya, as you are a new HUKD member with no existing feedback and this is an expensive item, could you possibly provide a personal picture of the item with your HUKD user name & date displayed in the photo, & also any links to other feedback you have, eg an ebay or AVForum user name. Thank you.

Prospective buyers, please note the following HUKD Guidelines:
(5) If possible, collect and pay for items in person.

Hi
Where abouts are you based? I live in London and would be willing to collect if you lived locally. Would you accept an offer of £650 cash?
#11
and so it begins...... :D
#12
Is there a receipt with it?
And where are you for collection?
banned#13
Lots of replies!

I am in Hampshire for collection

I don't have the receipt sorry - but apple do not need the receipt for repairs - they check the serial number - the macbook has until the end of december warranty as just checked by myself.

I have no feedback sorry hence why i would be prepared to post first if satisfied :)

As for pictures - links added to first post now...hope they are ok!

Hi Spotya, I dont think its the Uk keyboard, cause I have the same MB which I bought from Dixons and it has the £ symbol on number 3 and no mention of return or enter on ENTER key.

So can you please be more specific as to where you have bought this MB from.

Also unless the MB has been purchased from the Apple Store, they do need a receipt in case of any problems. I have recently been there with a recent iMac for repair!

Going back to my original offer. I will offer you £650. i live near heathrow, so i either dont mind meeting you half way to do the deal, or if you want to post first then i can send funds as soon as i receive it,

I have lots of feedback on here and also over 400 on ebay too.

I'm not trying to thread spoil or anything but I'm almost certain that's a U.S. Macbook.

The American keyboards have words on the keys (such as 'return' 'shift' 'command' etc.) where as the international English keyboards only have symbols - this isn't really a big deal.

The slightly annoying thing is that above the '3' key on an English keyboard should be a '£' Pound sign, but the American keyboards have a Hash key instead - annoying as the pound symbol is obviously used a lot in day to day typing.

spontya, I'd imagine the person that sold it to you on ebay got it cheaper in the U.S. and sold it here for a profit. However, £650 is still a bloody good price for a unibody Macbook

Ah right, thanks for clearing that up...will check that is ok with rmp4.

The keyboard is set up on the macbook for UK - so when you press shift and '3' - you do get the pound sign - i'd imagine it would only be a problem if you wern't sure where it would be..

Am in process of exchanging details etc with buyer

The old postage scam :(
#30
I was so lucky that not get involved in this, I was a bit late and that was my luck. This is a proper scam
#31
gosh, I really hope this isn't a scam, that's quite a lot of money to lose, the mods should prevent newbie sellers from selling high priced items without gaining feedback

Looks like he didn't lose the whole lot, just the cost of postage. It looks like a classic scam - the OP apparently being the one showing trust by offering to post in advance, but then asks buyer for postal costs by PM. I didn't see this thread before, but it seems pretty obvious that the OP is acting suspiciously. How many legit sellers would offer to send such an expensive item in advance of payment so quickly to two people he doesn't know... ??

How much did you pay for postage btw, and have you reported this matter to the mods? worth reporting to police?
#33
I think that its only the postage that is lost, not sure how much as it was discussed in PM by the looks of it. Still not nice though, any amount of money lost in this climate is not good.

edit:

Beat me to it!
#34
getting like scumtree on here looks like the scammers have moved in to hotty deals :(
#35
makes me furious that there so many scammers around
#36
If a deal seems too good to be ture, then it probably is!

Thats the rule to remember here.

Expensive goods sent out without payment being wanted by the seller??? I know they then asked for Postage in pm, but that should only heighten the warnings
#37
bad luck
#38
how come this guy is not been banned yet or any negative feedback yet ?
banned#39
Excuse me guys - I am in no way whatsoever a scammer, a bit quick to jump the gun with accusations are you not without knowing the situation I've been in?? Just because I am a new seller..

I have had my own problems meaning the macbook wasn't able to have been sent out earlier, and I have texted the buyer previously as well.

Just so you are all aware, the macbook was delivered today, tracking info here:
