Can you please post images of the actual item for sale, preferably with your username written on a note in the images. Also all trades must be done in the thread and not by e-mail.

Additionally, can you please provide feedback elsewhere, such as an ebay username?

Upload to www.photobucket.com, then click edit and resize to message board size, then copy the image url (bottom link) and paste it into the little yellow icon you will see in the reply box on here, its along the top of where you type when replying to a post

Does no one here know how much art goes for? Obviously not.

I've not seen the art in question, so I can't say if this is an over-estimation / under-estimation in terms of price.

As for 'school work'. My cousin who just graduated with a First; just sold 4 of his 6 final exhibition pieces for £2500 each. Not bad for school work.

I do however think this needs to be presented to the right audience. I doubt you'll find it here.

needs to up the price to ten grand then.

It's worth what someone's willing to pay.

Plus, you can't put a price tag / comment on a price tag on something that's not even been seen yet.

part of my work involves meeting artists so i can tell you that once you sign up to being an artist, it means struggling and most artists end up doing work that has nothing to do with their original vocation. because art is so subjective and is not one of those things that you can easily quantify or justify in the normal accounting terms. well, no one has really come up with a neat formula yet to calculate - maybe the insurance companies that insure priceless paintings will be able to tell us, but a piece of art that has not much history or demand, hmm.

its value, as freedumb says, is usually only as good as the demand for it. say a couple went on their honeymoon in spain and they saw a painting that they reconcile in the same romantic sentiment they probably would buy it whatever the price. but if the relationship soured then that same painting could well go to the dumps ...
