I really love my EEE-PC (specs below) but I need to sell it (I'm a student). It's about three months old and came with a two-year warranty. It's really useful for casual web browsing since it's so light you honestly don't know you've got it with you; it's also good for library work and study, older games, etc. I put Windows XP Fundamentals on it, so it runs very fast and gives you so much more choice than the original Linux (the CDs for which I include).

Do you have any selling feedaback anywhere else? And any bigger pictures?
#2
My eBay user ID is ajiuk85, hope that helps.

No stock in any of the above examples, with the following warning on the Microhouse website:
"CUSTOMER NOTICE: THIS PRODUCT IS IN SEVERE CONSTRAINT. EXPECTED END-USER DELIVERY IS 12 WEEKS FROM DATE OF ORDER."

Crucially, none of these had Windows, which in my opinion marks the difference between the Eee being an expensive Internet tablet and being a fantasticly affordable, fully-featured PC.

You use ebay best sell it there you wont get the asking price on here.

i'm not allowed to debate if not interested in product, but can't resist:
1. is your windows with licence? Because according to microsoft website its not a product for sale and available exclusively to MSA users.
You would require a FULL MS XP licence to be legal with MSF

2. Eclipse computers have it in stock
otherwise to complete list: http://www.expansys.com/p.aspx?i=158485 = £240
... and the list can go on.

but as stated, rules of HUKD don't allow me to debate, just state facts : i.e the price and url if product is sold cheaper brand new... hence i did :)

I will trade you for a k850i (look in the listings)
#9
@sunrise98 No thank you, I already have a phone on contract.

@hashman I obtained Fundamentals through my university's computer services department who offered it as a way for users of older computers to enjoy the security of Service Pack 2. Also, as stated above, your links are not like-for-like, and Windows adds functionality that really IMO untaps the Eee's potential.
#10
Are you allowed to sell on XP Fundamentals? If so, what price would you want for it?

How much room is left after XP is installed?
#12
@ Diodorus-siculus Unfortunately I only have the one copy licensed to the Eee
@fiyero About 1.5GB remains after XP is installed; with OpenOffice, Skype etc., there is still more space then would be with Xandros.

Wowo i'm definatley interested, but before making an offer i must know, would i be commiting a criminal offence using the WFLPC licence? i'm not a student? or at your university?
Would like to know as i am on probation for trying to throttle a chancer, so any further charges maybe frowned upon
And please people use correct acronyms or full terms, searching for msa, i got
Meat Standards of Australia
Malta Standards Authority
Motor Schools Association Of GB

PS would you trade for a half decent desktop? done nicely as an htpc
#14
@maddogb lol... I'm not sure where you would stand in that case! In this instance MSA stands for Microsoft Software Assurance. Also, I have a desktop that doesn't need replacing just yet.

Ah shame i have soooo much hardware and really dont need a mini laptop, even tho i really want one, mainly just to dip my toe in the ssd arena.
PS obviously i knew bout the msa acronym, big clue up top with "WFLPC licence" but hought it might add a touch of humour, it is sat nite
#16
@ maddogb I reckon everyone needs a mini laptop! As for the acronym joke, I'm clearly not with it... long day.

I am interested but have some more questions. The laptop only has one button - is there a way to do right clicks? and does wifi work fine with XP?

To right click, you press the right side of the key - you get used to it pretty quick, especially if you have used a laptop with a split bartype.

Don't see any reason why wi-fi will not work fine with XP.

The wi-fi works flawlessly with XP, Asus includes all the drivers for XP on a CD that comes with the Eee, so everything is completely compatible.
#21
OK, how about £200 delivered? - I can pay by PayPal or Bank Transfer
#22
£200 is a bit less than I was hoping; are you prepared to go higher?
#23
Would you consider a (part or full) trade on a Toshiba Satellite 2.8 GHz Celeron laptop?
#24
I am prepared to go a bit higher but it really is something I want rather than need.
How about £200 + your paypal fees and postage at cost? (not sure how much that is)
#25
has there been a couple of posts removed? Is this still for sale?
#26
mine got expired for over bumping :(
#27
@ peodude No thank you, I already have a desktop
@ fiyero I'm not sure I can sell it that low, it makes it an expensive experiment...

@ bazzaric It's still up for sale

£220 + postage at cost by whatever method you choose
#30
OK, I'm ready to sign but two more questions. Do you have proof of purchase in case I need to make a warranty claim? and do you have installation media (DVD etc) and key in case I needed to reinstall XP?

Thanks
#31
I have the sales invoice and all of the documentation that came with the computer. The installation of XP Fundamentals was done via USB by the university CS team, so I have a copy of the files used and the key, which I can put onto a CD. Hope this helps.
#32
OK, deal.
How much by special delivery? I can pay by paypal.
(sorry for the delays replying I am not getting email updates for this thread for some reason)
