Ive bought my little boy a bike for his 11th birthday next month, but let him have it in the school hols, but he could do with a water bottle that goes on the frame, a bell and a bike lock thats easy enough for him to do, ive seen a set on empire stores but its £30!!! Where I live Darwen I cant find anything, there is a bike shop but its hartd for me to get to as im disabled and I wouldnt send my son as its across a really busy road, so thought id just ask on here as there might be a bike enthusiat with some spares. Thanks

I've got a D-Lock, but it's screwed onto the bike.

You would get a better deal visiting your local Wilkinson as they will do a D-Lock for under £5.

D-Lock: http://img267.imageshack.us/img267/2849/lockrp5.jpg

These are stronger and more secure than chain and wire locks.

tesco do a big set with bottle, lock, tools and a computer for £15

Also seem to have quite a lot of cycle stuff on sale at the moment.

As far as online cycle shops go, www,chainreactioncycles.com are pretty cheap and offer free delivery. Also try argos, woolworths + other supermarkets, whatever is local, but you should be able to find a decent enough lock + bottle + cage for around a tenner.

NB I do have a lock + cage that I don't use anymore but i think its at my mother's house and its a u-lock so quite heavy, probably would cost almost as much to post as a shop will deliver a new one for, but i'll have a look anyway. Might be worth asking on freecycle if you have one in your area?
