Jap PSP WILL play UK UMD's, as they are also region 2, mine runs them fine.
If it does not play UK UMD's it is possibly an American version.

Not sure about other regions, but I know for a fact that Region 1 UMD's will NOT work on a UK or JP model of the PSP, no matter what versions of custom firmware you have, I have been into the hacking scene of the PSP since the days of dev hook and not once has the stupid American UMD I have in my house been able to play on any of my PSP's, that was the whole reason I looked into hacking it in the first place :)

Well if you buy the DVD surely it wouldnt be illegal to convert it into the psp format and put it on the memomry stick? Instead of buying the UMD?

What Custom Firmware does it have on it?

Without express written consent from the copyright holder, yes, it would be illegal.

However, if the movie was not available on UMD, and you were only planning to view it yourself (i.e. not a public showing), then arguably you are entitled to make one copy for your own personal use.

It's a very muddy area that never has a definitive statement made about it until someone is prosecuted for making 2,000+ copies in a warehouse somewhere and, of course, this has no bearing on a single person just wanting to watch DVD content (that they already own, legally) upon their PSP whilst on the train to work.

Over the next year or so, with the advent of Blu-ray to PSP transfers via a PS3, and the "PlayTV" product, the copyright law in this respect will need some clear definition or many people are going to fall foul of it without realising.

Your PSP, dunno... PSPs in general, nope :(

Taken from a posting at Destructoid.com, one choice comment about retailers (in East London) removing PSP titles from their shelves because they cannot sell them:

"I blame Sony for this. They have been pushing the PS3 like crazy and aren't working on any AAA PSP titles. Most PSP games are either remakes of PSOne games or stripped down PS2 games. Who wants to buy those anyway? Since I got a new firmware I haven't bought a single PSP game, but actually there hasn't been a single PSP game I'm interested enough in to buy anyway."

BFN,

fp.

PS. To be fair, £135 for your console is probably £40-50 over-priced. But photos would help sell it if you had any.

You'll probably need photos on eBay to sell for £135.

Yeah, £75 for the PSP and £10 for the memory card is probably about right, for some reason PSP and DS prices have fallen massively in the last few months. Just ordered one of the £15 play 4gb cards last night- tbh with the new low prices id keep the psp rather than give it away- or like you say, ebay it, see what you get. Just looked, its UK spec but theres one going unsold with 14 decent boxed games and a 1gb card for £105 inc postage- that's insane, a fiver a game and thirty quid for the PSP and nobody's buying???!

There are about 4 PSPs sold here on hotukdeals this week, why is this thread getting picked on?

Jeffry24 - To be fair your asking price is a bit high, a £100 start with room for negotiation would go well here.

I'm not "picking on" the seller, nor the thread.

Just trying to offer my thoughts on a suitable price to shift the items.

Also I thought the information about why PSPs may not be selling (due to lack of games on offer at present), may be useful.
