any response?
#17
Sounds like someone at RM has taken a fancy to it. Seller will have to fill out a RM claims form :P
#18
mistressmiajane,

I would appreciate a reply please.

Thanks

Hmmmm These were sealed very well and the remotes were inside, hence the cost of the postage which of course you can see on the front of the envelope, so you can be sure it was inside. Now nothing like this have ever happened to me so i will have to have a dig for the receipt, to be honest i am so shocked. This is going to be a hard one as normally any mail which has been clearly tampered with is placed in to a sealed plastic bag by RM and delivered that way stating the damage.

Did is arrive that way? Was it clearly ripped open? I need as much information as possible before i approach them. My father and sons dad work at the main sorting office in Bristol, so have taken advice from them concerning this.

Thanks for getting back to me. Well, the envelope you sent it in was just a standard plain one which had NO reinforcement with cello tape which is probably triggered the thoughts of the person who has tampered with it.

I received it in a poor state. It certainly looked as if had been tampered with, tears around the side of the envelope. The tears where pretty much the size of the remote's width.

The good thing about this, is the cost was only £6 but i would have really like the remote to be honest

Ok can you take a photo of the whole envelope for me just so i can print it off , i did place it inside the card so it would be renforced plus i did tape down the back, This is all very strange

Think my Mrs may have thrown it out to be honest
#23
Any idea on what you can do about this? Do you have another available?
#24
Hmm not really sure what i can do to be really honest with you. I dont have anymore.
#25
so your just saying i lose £6? think this is harsh.considering the standard envelope was not reinforced.
#26
Can you see if you can find the envelope? I need it to be able to make a claim have gone into the process of seeking a refund from royal mail but without the packing it looks bleak.

AFAIK, you don't need the actual packaging.

The picture atppkr has taken would be enough proof.

You the seller will need to file a claim filling in a claim form with royal mail.

By looking at the picture myself, I can come to the conclusion that this wasn't suitably packaged.

Doritos, No need for you unwelcome advice, i am dealing with it.

Hi Nikki,

Don't want to go on about this. I know it was only £6 but its the principle really.

Just keep me updated and let me know if you need any more information from me.
#30
I need the packaging as its requested by royal mail not me in the claims form, I have found the proof of postage. So just need to to have a hunt and your going to have to fill in some form about the damage.

As stated my partner has thrown it out therefore this will not get very far.

I do think you need to take part responsibility for this though as the packaging was not reinforced imo.
#32
It was sealed with cello tape and placed inside a card. You can even see the indentations of where the remote was plus it shows it had been sat at the unripped opened end.. Also Any damaged mail is put in plastic bags with damaged on it ( this happens at the sorting office before the postie gets it) and if the postie nabbed it, he would of opened the unripped end and theres no way he would of delivered just the card, This would incriminate him in to taking the remote. So now the packaging is gone i am at a lose of what to do?????
#33
There was NO celloptape on the envelope (unless the postie has ripped it off. You can easily see this in the above picture.

You really have confidence in the royal mail system don't you. I have received ripped parcels before with no sight of a plastic bag. Lets be realistic here, as there was no insurance on it so its safe to say that no matter how many claims form we complete nothing will happen.
#34
id appreciate a response....
#35
Without the packaging i cant claim
#36
do you honestly think that you packaged it sufficiently? id disagree. are you willing to refund me half the money?
#37
Reported this to the mods as otherwise it will keep getting bumped to the top of the board, which is unfair on others trying to sell/buy. Hopefully you both get it sorted soon.
#38
locking this-too much bumping-try to resolve via pm,or ask for mod assistance-mistressmiajane-lmk how you plan to resolve this-thank you

I'd suggest the OP makes a claim against Royal Mail and let them investigate using the evidence available. Failure to do so may result in trade restrictions.

This is not an instruction to refund, merely a reminder that we expect both parties to assist in the process. To the buyer, throwing away the packaging and blaming another person really isn't helpful in this scenario either.

Whilst sellers are responsible for ensuring the item gets to the buyer, we'd expect the member in dispute to keep all relevant info to justify their claims and also to assist in any recovery process.

As this has not been done, we'll leave it to the members to reach a compromise. In the event that an agreement can't be reached, members may wish to record their views of the transaction via Feedback, however this should not be at the expense of ignoring my opening statement.

Do keep us informed of the outcome.
