ok basically i bought a psp on here and i was told it switches on and all that. got it nd it was bricked. i unbricked it and it turns out the back light doesnt work. now i cant be bothered to keep trying to fix it. i was watching videos on youtube and it seems like the problem is with the backlight fuse which needs bridging. i dont know how to solder etc so want to sell the psp as faulty for someone else to fix or i will sell the parts.

basically just let me know what part you want and i will say a price and we can work from there. im going to value the psp at 35 for the rules.

please note i have ordered some parts from deal extreme like a battery, analog stick and a battery door cover. obviously i cant sell these now so if your interested please let me know.

will put some pics up of the psp.

how do you fix it? basically ill tell you what the problem is. i removed the faceplate and switched on the psp. the sound comes up nd everything and when i move left and right it makes the sound but you can see anything on the screen unless you shine a bright light onit.

what do you think the problem is?

you dont need to put the original battery and charger in, just tell the bloke you dont need to swap them just the psp, there ok, not bothered they only drop them off.

Glad you seem to be getting your PSP back up and running.............

.............if this doesn't work out for you, can I please have first dibs on the Wifi card (I am presuming that this is a phat PSP?), as the wifi on my PSP is up the creek, and from my research it seems like replacing the card is the only way of getting it up and running again. Obviously I would pay you for it.

Hopefully it won't get as far as the breakers yard, but if it does...........;-)

My psp is going to be swapped out on tuesday!
#25
my letter came today. what exactly did they ask when you called and did they specify what they needed with the psp? and also isit a all day call when they bring it to you?
#26
Just asked what the problem was how when did i notice the problem, how long i've had the psp for where i purchased it etc... None of which i knew as it's my cousins psp so just said i'd had it for ages its a 1003 and that i got it in Asda.. my auntie works there so probably true.

You will need to tell them you have a continuous play plan, and then they just go through your details.. name address etc,, your ref number for continuous play and arrange a day for swap out. It is an all day thing with pdp couriers, but you can get them to come to a work place or he said you can leave with a neighbour and put a note on the door telling the courier.

Hey Alicom - you managed to get a replacement yet? I have had the paperwork through for my PSP, gonna ring it through next week I think. Any tips (besides removing custom firmware before sending it back ;-))?

Later

EDIT:

I phoned them today and a new PSP is being shipped to me on Monday - result! :-D

There were a bit funny on the phone, kept asking whether I have used any "non-official" software, or been on any "non-official" websites - which of course I haven't :whistling:

Were a bit funny about the fact that my policy was so recent - glad I left it a few weeks before phoning.

Anyhow, its all good - looking forward to my shiny new PSP coming on Monday - thanks for the tips folks.
