terencetcf :- Whereabouts are you - Do you offer personal collection? :)

Also, if you have some sales feedback elsewhere such as ebay, let us know.

Because I want to get 50D, the body is made in Japan.

I based in London, personal collection is preferable.

I am wondering what kind of shop is this... May end up with paying the money but not receiving the product?

Sorry, but you're brand new on here, you have given no links to positive feedback you may have as a seller on other websites like eBay, you haven't put pics of the item up and your camera (although a month old, do you have a receipt to prove the date it was purchased?) is still second hand.

The link shown by fragaliciousbob is a company selling brand new equipment with full warranty and protection under distance selling regulations. Also, if someone used a credit card to purchase from that company then they would be fully protected by their credit card company under credit regulations as the purchase is over £100. They may also receive extra insurance and warranty on their purchase as I do with my credit card. It would help you to sell if you sold for less than someone can buy it new.

Total for me delivered to UK including import handling, delivery and vat is £577.08.

you need to re-think your price for your second hand one, as a new one is only £509.99

http://bentonvillemall.co.uk/acatalog/Canon_EOS_40D__Body_.html

£569.99
including VAT. Insured carriage £9.99. In Stock. Additional £60 Canon Cashback also available for purchases between August 21st and September 21st 2008

Can I ask where you bought it from?
I take it that you still have the receipt for warranty purposes?

So, that's £579.98 then

Your price is a little high, considering the current cashback offer. Amazon is about the cheapest for the 40d, body only (at time of writing) @ ~£590. Less £60 cashback, makes £530. Making your price for a pre-owned, US item not very attractive. Sorry.

As for the other sites mentioned in the thread. I've read bad reports regarding grey imports and non-UK warranties about each of them. Shop, or international warranties are not the same as a UK one and can come back to bite you in the bum.

2nd hand is 2/3 of new price, MAX

I'm looking for a 40D, but no chance I'll pay near new price for a second hand one.

Lets take Dixons...

http://camerapricebuster.co.uk/prod576.html

£594.27 - £60 = £534.27

and that’s before anyone starts researching for quidco cashback, promotional website discount codes, credit card additional cash backs, etc, etc

And this would be for a brand new product with a FULL UK warranty.

Do you want to post a more sensible price for your non-UK, second hand product as I would be interested if it was priced accordingly.

Thanks.
