I have an old laptop, bit battered, can upload pics. Its a Advent 7086 1.4Ghz, 14.1 screen and 256k Ram, 40gb HD and DVD Rewriter. Would need some help working out its value, and see if we can reach a mutually agreeable figure. Would £100 be pie in the sky?? Hopefully you know more about these things than me?

EDIT Had a look on ebay and theres a faulty one for 40 (delivered) with a couple of hours to go, I'd say we need to be looking somewhere between the 2 figures, say £75 delivered? Still got the box somewhere.....

Its in working order, with no wifi and the usb ports need looking at as when something is plugged into them it keeps disconecting then reconnecting. Also I've lost 3 of the keys (they still work, just don't have the letter on them) and the mouse pad has 2 proken buttons, still works you press the underneath contact with your finger (LOL). The screen is fine and it comes with Windows XP but no recovery discs (I don't think) and a charger. Battery is fine but runs down quite quick, I leave it plugged in, think you can get 60mins out of it

Interested? Do you want to see pics? BTW what do you want it for? Its not been used since last november when we got a new laptop, am keeping it for my daughter but would be interested in a sale and put some money towards a new netbook

ive got a laptop which i purchased of ebay a while back paid £70 and its never worked how i expected it to but too late to return as ive had it ages (not used) it has couple of probs needs rebooting i think as it is doing funny things with keys but i dont have disc as one the guy gave me dont seem to have anything on it or so i cant see well has but i cant open them, also the laptop gets hot and after bit will switch itself off, now i really really dont know anything about computers (i have 3 in house now not working properly and dont know how to fix so just get new one lol) i can get specs etc when i find old post from ebay if you wanna take a chance you can have for £30 only so its not gathering dust, its on wireless too with adaptor (external) comes with power pack etc actually holds charge for hour which is quite good anyway let me know and ill get details im in southwick brighton so not far from you as i say its probably something simple like me ;-)

I think I have exactly what your looking for. I'll just have to check the spec of the thing as I can't remember. but it is fully working asside from the battery holding charge so it must be plugged in as you said you would like it. I'll find the spec and be in touch asap.

Hi, thanks for the offer, unfortunately its just a little too battered for me and the usb port would be a problem as i would need that for the net.

I have a vaio which is exactly like this one apart from the ram has been upgraded to 2gb and the harddrive is 40gb. Condition is very good apart from the touchpad which is a little stiff.

Hi i've got an acer apsire 3623 without OS? (forgot the actual model number :p) 14-15" monitor, celeron M 1.5Ghz (or 1.6?) 1gb ram, 40gb HDD.

Fully working except the speaker a bit broken (hmm, just say it would have noise with it, result of me putting it on too loud :p) but ideal with you've got a good speakers. 3 usb port, vga, lan, batteries (1-2 hours), wireless, keyboard, mousepad are working fine. mind though the cpu heats up easily if you use too much graphic intensed program or watching videos for too long so it would start to perform slow after a while but if you could get a cooling fan it would be ok. :-D got a usb floppy disk reader, a external mouse, exclusive acer laptop bag, and a bit of documentation? will look again when i get home.

would be looking at around 100 quid delivered?

Hi

Sounds interesting, bit worried about the overheating, as i would use it a bit but mainly for web browsing. The most i would offer os probably around 75 delivered via BT, would need to see a couple of pics, cant commit fully atm as i am looking at a couple on ebay and local ads etc.

Core 2 Duo 2Ghz
2 GB Ram
160GB Hard Disk
Win Vista Business
Dead Battery
ATI X1300, plays oblivion, GTA etc at decent frame rates
I'd recommend a laptop cooler as it gets hot, it's beast of a machine
