As per the title, I have been chatting with Barky, and have decided to have a go at raising some money for SCOPE through the sale of some of Barky's Nintendo DS cartridges.
These were given to Barky from Nintendo, and are the full game, just cartridge only.

We have:

Guitar Hero on tour Decades
The Simpsons Game
Sonic Chronicles
Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games
Mario Kart DS
Brain Training x2
Sim Animals
Carnival
Imagine Teacher x2

I am pricing these at £10 each as they are for charity, but feel free to make an offer :)

All proceeds are to go to SCOPE - I will pay postage from my own pocket

Please do your bit for the cause support a worthwhile charity :)
SCOPE is a charity that works with and helps people with Cerebral Palsy, working with a wide age range from birth to old age

Are you selling on behalf of barky ? :)
#5
How do we know the money will get to the charity ?

Barky has posted to me, so they are mine now and in my possession. I wanted to credit Barky for donating them to me in the first place

tell me what you want me to do for proof and I'll do it.

I have a daughter with Cerebral Palsy, and have had a lot of support from the charity - I just want to help back.

I understand you asking about proof, but I do feel a little upset that someone would think that I'd use it as an excuse.

Great :)

We dont normally allow charity / fundraising threads. However, you are selling your own goods for a price which is fine, but how is the buyer going to be sure that the money goes to charity ?

tell me what proof you want and I'll provide it - I can ask for a receipt from the charity and scan it and post a copy on here, but again i feel a little upset that you'd think this, especially as I have a duaghter who has been helped by this charity.
Would you like a picture of her too, so you can see the disability? :x

Dont see why you're upset :)

No questions will be asked if you're selling the games for a tenner each & for your own profit. However, since the money is to be donated to charity, its fair to expect some proof (not that we dont beleive you but whoever is buying will be confident where their money goes).

as explained previously, I am very defensive of my own, and having a 3 year old disabled child makes you hyper defensive, as so many around don't understand the upset this causes.

I have stated what I am prepared to do for proof, and believe that should be sufficient proof, but I will only have that after I have donated the money.

Until then i ask people to trust my feedback rating and use that as a trust rating - its something I'm proud of, and wouldn't want it to be tarnished in any way :)

To update everyone, I can donate online, and I have emailed SCOPE to see if they can provide me with a receipt, and if they can I will donate each payment separately, and forward the proof to the buyer.

I can't say fairer than that, unless anyone else has any better idea of how I can prove it :)

off to bedskis now - will check in the morning of there are any offers

This is a copy of the email I received today to reassure anyone who doesn't want to pay me by cheque, and who wants confirmation that the money is going to charity :

Hello XXXXXXX,

First of all, thank you for wishing to make a donation to Scope. Services such as Scope Response are entirely funded by donations from our Supporters so I am really pleased to learn that you wish to help fund this.

We acknowledge all Online Donations by e-mail that include all the information you require - but we're happy to create letters of thanks / certificates for any particular situation. i.e. You're making a Donation on behalf of someone or have raised the money yourself. This is available by request.

Please let me know if I can be of any further assistance in this respect.
Regards,
