I have for sale a cheap laptop with 2 intermittent faults.
It is an ECS 321 same as the following link -
ECS Web Site
It was a celeron M 1.3 but I have put a Pentium M 1.6 cpu in it. I was gonna upgrade the ram but not found any cheap enough yet.
So its a Pentium M 1.6, 256mb ram, 30gig hd, 14.1 tft, xp home with licence and backup discs, drivers, manual.
It is in very good condition too.
The faults are as follows -
1st one is just a flickering screen when it is moved so an easy fix as just a common loose connection due to pulling on the cable.
2nd is sometime it will not boot so a little tap on the laptop above the keyboard and it boots so must be a bad/loose connection.
The screen only flickers when its moved and at one position you can make it go off so it will be the ribbon connection loose at one end. Once in a position it stays on fine.
The booting issue is a bit hit and miss. I just turned it on now and it booted first time. If it don't boot usually a tap above the keyboard is all it needs. I would say out of the last 10 times trying to boot it has not done it once, quick tap and turn off and on again and it boots. Not sure if it is just a loose connection but just can't be bothered to look and my lads grandma has got a
new laptop and gave him her old acer now which works fine so no point in me trying etc.
There is no wireless on it and no pci slot or pcmcia slot so usb only. I can provide a usb wireless with it needed.
Battery lasts an hour.
