*****FINAL REDUCTION 3/2/08 - £410 DELIVERED FOR THE LOT*****

Something else to offload (I decided to have a proper clear out as you can probably see!)

Anyway, a fully boxed, excellent condition Canon 400D DSLR camera. Comes with everything as new (leads, manuals, software etc). Kit lens is included (18-55) boxed as new.

Also with it are the following...

Sigma 70-300 APO DG Macro lens, (boxed as new)
Sandisk 2GB Ultra II Compact Flash Card
Kenko MC Skylight filter (boxed)
Kenko MC UV filter (boxed)
Generic Jessops Cleaning kit.
Spare third party NB2L battery
Centon D Trek CB200 carry case to hold it all in.

The two lenses are in mint condition, and have had one of the two filters on them since the moment they were taken out o their respected boxes.

And now the best bit....

A receipt is provided with a purchase date of 19th April 2007, so there is some warranty left HOWEVER I am also including the accidental damage warranties I took out at eh time of purchase.

Both the Camera (including the kit lens) and the Sigma 70-300 lens are covered by separate Domestic & General extended warranties that include accidental damage and run out on 19th April 2010.

So for the next 2 years and 3 months, not only will you be covered for manufacturer defects with this purchase, you will also be covered for accidental damage. If you drop it on the floor, spill your tea on the camera or accidentally drop it in a river whilst trying to take that special shot of a duck (!) you will be totally covered by the warranty. All paperwork will be included and full ownership will be transferred to the buyer.

And the price? .......

I'm after £410 delivered for the lot (receipt shows £760). Sounds expensive as you can get the 400D for around the £400 mark online with the kit lens, but remember that you are also getting the Sigma 70-300 APO DG Macro lens with this too (£159 from Jessops) along with the CF card, filters, cases and the extended warranties too.

I simply do not use the camera enough to warrant keeping it so hope that a real enthusiast will take this off my hands.

Please ask any questions you may have and please do not insult me with stupid low ball offers as I will not sell this for peanuts. I may however be interested in a trade with a bridge camera for anyone that wants to trade up.

****EDIT****
2/2/08 - I have dropped the total price down to £405 delivered, thats nearly £370 of the cost of the receipt price.

Assuming I can find someone to take the bits off me I am willing to split it.
With this in mind here is how much I would be after...

Canon 400D
18-55 kit lens
2GB CF card
2 filters (UV & Skylight)
Centon carry bag
Extended warranty until 2010

£325 delivered

Sigma 70-300 APO DG Macro (this is not the £99 one from Jessops!)
extended warranty until 2010

£120 delivered

reduced the price to £500 delivered. Thats less than the 400D and Sigma lens at current retail prices and you are getting a better warranty than you would in the shops as well as all the extras :)

I'm up for a trade too if anyone is interested?

hi simon are you sure this warantee can be handed over? when i purchased a camcorder and sold it (because i found a better one real cheap 1 month later) they would not allow me to hand over the extra warranty
#3
Yep, the back of the Domestic & General certificates I have clearly state that they can be transferred to someone else as long as D&G informed of the new owners details.

Will be happy to scan the section in on the sheet for those who need confirmation, or better still give D&G a call, they will confirm it themselves.:)

having just bought a 400d am looking to add to it, if you decide to sell the other lense or filters on their own I am interested
#7
If I was splitting (not that I really want to) I would be looking for £150 for the Sigma lens with the 2 years accidental damage guarantee with it. I have no choice but to sell it with the guarantee, hence the price.
#8
Can we some pictures of the kit please?

also how many shutter activations?

Thanks
Mark
#9
Hi mark, will sort out piccies in 2 secs mate, and will get the shutter activations too for you.

picture in post 2, minus the case that i am throwing in too.

Having a little difficulty with the shutter actuations at the mo, but will get there :)
#12
All the software I have tried gives me a minus figure for the shutter actuations which is obviously not right. Anyway, I can assure you that it has not had any more than 1500 actuations since I bought it and has been my Ebay camera for the past 4 months.

If you guys know how to get the shutter actuation info then please do tell as the Exif info shows the minus number. I did read somewhere tonight though that the 400D and older DSLR's cannot show the correct figure anyway and a trip to Canon would be in order to get it. Don't know if there is any truth in that though.

****EDIT - Confirmed on a Canon Photography forum that its only the 1 Series DLSr's that you can get the shutter actuation figure from unless you go to a Canon dealer who will hook it up to their computer and give you the info****

If it's never been reset, and you just have the standard file names in camera, you could take a photo and the filename would be IMG_**** you would obviously replace the stars with numbers, I think this is the most accurate way to get the shutter actuations.

Also for anybody looking to buy this, I have almost exactly the same kit and it's awesome, and with the warranty its all really really expensive, so what this guy is offering for £500 is unbeatable.

Yeah it says IMG_0002. LOL Not totally accurate unfortunately.

Will leave this up until about 10pm then I'll remove it and try it somewhere else.

Just had a sneaky feeling that it might have been too much for the buyers on here :( Someone somewhere will get a bargain thats for sure!

I dont think so I paid this week from a buyer on here £300 for the basic 400d package. Plus the sigma lense is on offer at Jessops for £99.00.

Plus the sigma lense is on offer at Jessops for £99.00.

I do wish people would check what they are posting before trying to flame a thread!

Actually the £99 lens at Jessops is not the same Sigma lens as I am selling. The one I have here is the APO which is £159.99 (Jessops) and has a higher grade glass not as prone to vignetting as the cheaper lens you mentioned.
#18
Removed the advert from other forums and now back up here.

Have reduced the price to £475 delivered for the lot, or will split assuming there is buyers for both the camera and sigma lens seperatley.
#19
Also interested in trades for a bridge camera (Canon S5 IS, Fuji 9600 etc)
#20
reduced the price a little.
#21
Simon, you interested in a trade for the lens? got a psp....or a sanyo ca6 camcorder for trade
#22
Got a psp and sold a Hi def camcorder the other day on ebay as it was not getting used.

Thanks for the offers though.
#23
no worries,good luck.
banned#24
interested in the lense or are you going to shout at me :whistling:
#25
I was not shouting at you dog_cop, was merely pointing out that you had taken the wrong lens for price comparison previously.

Assuming that the camera is bought, and you still want the lens at that time, you can have first dibs on it. Unless of course someone wans to buy the lot in one go.

Dropped the price of the camera down again to £380 which is now cheaper than Jessops, comes with a Jessops reciept, all the accessories and 2 years extra warranty. I'm giving this thing away now! LOL
banned#26
point taken , and yes I have read the info on the sigma lens and look the right thing to add to my 400d. Yes I note your price now that is a steal for the camera and all the goodies.
Will check back from time to time, and thanks for first dibs on the lens
#27
Package reduced to £455 delivered for the lot (I must be mad!) or £370 for the 400D, kit lens, memory card, case and filters, as well as the extended warranty.

Someone must want this! Cant beleive I have had not interest so far.

It's not like it is over priced LOL
#28
first bump for the evening crew :)
#29
I have a Canon Ixus 800is with 3 memory cards and a lowerpro case.

Cheers

Hi mate,

What condition is the Ixus in? Is it boxed? In warranty? With receipt?

How much were you thinking of including on top?

Cheers
Simon
#31
It is in amazing condition, probably only took 100 photo's.

Only been charged twice.

I have the box, not sure about receipt and it was less than a year ago when I bought it.

No sure on how much money to add, u would know better than me.

Cheers

LFC Muppet!
#32
Are you wanting the complete package I have here?

Also any "trade" would hang on the fact that the receipt was available and the item was still in warranty.

As for price, well the 800 IS is not available new now (so it would seem) but Ebay prices go around the £100 mark delivered, so would be looking at a considerable amount of money to put on top (the difference between the 800 IS price and the valuation I am wanting for my 400D.
#33
Final reduction, £435 all in.
banned#34
still VERY interested in the lens ...please
#35
I would only want the camera and 1 lense, but could only put £100 on top.

Looks and sounds like that will not be enough, thanks anyway.

Would not be enough, sorry.
#37
still VERY interested in the lens ...please

And if someone buys the camera, its yours mate!
#38
How much would you have said on top?
#39
Would be looking at £300. But again this would be based on the warranty / receipt with the 800 IS
#40
Not a hope in hell of me getting hold of £300.

Cheers anyway
