That, my friend, is entirely your decision. :)

I sold one of these last year, similar spec, but with battery and dvd rw, and only got £100 for it, so I'm pricing accordingly for me, but if you want to hold out thats fine also :)

I do have a wi fi bit that replaces the silver strip on the right hand side of the lid that fits there, as it is a special port, thats the only thing I didnt sell with the last one, as I thought it may come in hand one day :)
#19
I can give you £80 delivered which is fair considering it had no battery or no wireless
banned#20
I can add a wireless card with it (new one may I add lol), but ill take £80 if I have no further offers?
#21
no further offers from me, as I had stated £75 was my top offer, so go for it :)

but andy if you want the proper wifi card to go with it if you decide to sell it on, rather than use the pcmcia slot or one of the USBs then give me a shout as I have the official compaq one that fits the lid
#22
bassman i have a buffalo wireless card which fits in my n610c, you reckon it will work in the n600c

usb or pcmcia?

usb or pcmcia?

Fairly technical to me :whistling: its likely to be pcmcia though at its too wide to fit in a usb slot

heres a pic of it http://www.broadbandbuyer.co.uk/images/products/WLI-CB-G54HP.jpg
#25
yeah will work, just need the drivers, the pcmcia looks like a flat metal card with plastic for about the last fifth of it.

Aye, but my n610c won't charge so i either need to get rid of it or use it for some of its working parts

I wouldn't know, i bought it with a flat battery and it only charged for like 2 seconds, think its got 40gb hardrive, 512mb ram, wireless card, cd/dvd drive, battery quite portable aswell
#33
you had it working off the charger though? taking the battery out?

I'm going to pass on that one then, as that could be a fairly difficult fix :(

I had a similar problem on an old Acer laptop from work. The did eventually fix it, but it was far from safe, and I refusd to use it when i saw a bolt of blue shoot out of the charger socket with it in!!!

Could be an easy fix for someone ok with messing with laptops, but possibly gonna have to give it away fairly cheaply if you want rid of it :(

sorry i couldn't have been more help.

Laptops to look out for if you like the smaller older ones, in terms of spec etc are the Toshiba Tecra M2 units - very nice and very bombproof. Would snap one of tose up like a shot (so long as I had the cash!)
