Looking for some cheap but half decent computer speakers which will work with a Dell Inspiron 580 running windows 7 (our old speakers have an extra power cable which the new computer doesn't have a socket for!)
Shipping/Payment:
PPG preferred but BT ok as well.

all speakers work :/ all is needed is a 3.5mm cable going into the headphone socket. How much are you looking to spend?

LOL, just having issues with various things not working and compatibility issues.
The speakers we have at the moment have 2 cables, one for the headphone socket and one for power, the power one has nowhere to go in the new computer.
Not wanting to spend more than £10 tbh.

wow thats odd, do you have a pic?

Do you mean the speakers are powered by the kettle lead that plugs into the pc i.e the speakers plug into the 3 pin bit at back of pc and then the kettle lead goes into the plug which is like a passthrough

Nope, it's like the headphone prong but fatter. Just old really - or might be a Sony thing. Though don't want to keep on bumping this so I'll edit and add a photo to this post later for curiosity's sake but probably best not to keep chatting for the other people who have FS/FT threads open.

I'm tempted by ALTEC LANSING VS2620 2.0 PC Speakers £8.97 del from PC World but will see if anyone else has anything to offer first.

I think I'll close the thread though, I don't think I'm going to get much better value than the Altec ones.
