Selling this lot as I have replaced it with an iMac.

Everything is in full working order and have just had the base unit wiped by a freind so it has a clean install of XP, but you can use the Vista upgrade disc (included) if you want.

Any questions please feel free to ask. I have nearly 300 positive feedback on Ebay - username available via PM.

my brother runs a dual core d 945 pentium which is one up from this one i believe and he still sits there with loads of apps open and plays farcry and counter strike source etc, so is pretty good, for office/general usage it will performane very well.
#11
and may i just add this is a excellent deal, snap it up someone, if my mum didnt want a laptop i would buy this for her, as its such a good deal for what your getting.

that is a dual core, not a core2duo

its the first type of dual core available, they arent as good as core2duo, fsb (front side bus) speeds are slower

they are good though depending on your requirements

this one has 2 seperate cpu's while core2duo has 2 cpu's on one board

as said, this is a good price

sorry to pinch the thread but I am in need of just a tower as I am fining my doo wont play my i tunes and work on other sites etc , I dont play games on it as I have a 360 and ps3 but want something better and have a 500gig external drive too.. would this tower be good ? ideas ?... some orange love in the offing here
#15
Yep from my point of view I have had no issues with multi tasking on this computer at all, it's not exactly the cutting edge of gaming these days though. I used it mainly for office/internet/music applications and it performed very well.

Gaming wise I could play any game on it but some of the newest games reverted to the lower end graphical settings. Most of the time I was running itunes, FM 2008 and IE6 at the same time and had no probs.

Once again, thanks for the comments.

It doesn't have 2 separate CPUs - it has 2 cores on one CPU. The Core 2 Duo introduced new technology such as shared cache memory (so 1 core can use all the cache rather than splitting the cache half and half), smaller predictive branch stack (quicker branching as the stack search will be quicker due to less searching), more instructions per clock cycle therefore for each MHz more instructions can be processed at that particular moment in time, smaller manufacturing process (less heat generated and more power efficient - much more) and finally the Core 2 Duo may have more level 2 cache but I can't remember if that is the case.

As for the price, it is fair .

I am interested in buying the monitor. Would you be willing to sell it on its own? If so, how much you asking for it?
#24
Would only split as a last resort to be honest, if over the next week or so I get no offers for the full system than I might consider splitting.
#25
Absolute bargain IMO, I just bought my daughter a pc for xmas, D'oh
#26
I'm prepared to go down to £200 for the package.

i'm running a near enough same spec system to this, apart from a 3.4 pentium d, and it runs like a dream with vista ultimate.

I need to speak to someone, can I get back to you?

BTW, do you have a model number of the monitor?
How old is it?
And does it have any dead pixels?

Thanks.
#37
No dead pixels that I know of, about 2 years old but has not been used for the past six months.

Model No:- SONY SDM-HS73P
