Dell Inspiron 6400 Laptop For Sale £200.00

I will firstly start off with the specs:

INSPIRON 6400 DUO PROCESSOR T2050 (1.60ghz)
WIDE SREEN 15.4" WXGA (1280X800) TFT DISPLAY
MEMORY 1GB (2X512) 533MHZ DDR2 SDRAM
HARD DRIVE 80GB SERIAL ATA (5400 RPM)
DVD+/-RW (READ/WRITE) 8X FIXED INTERNAL
BATTERY PRIMARY 6 CELL 53W/HR LI-ION
INTEGRATED INTEL MEDIA ACCELERATOR 950
INTEL® PRO WIRELESS 3945 802.11A/B/
ENGLISH - GENUINE WINDOWS XP HOME SP2

They are just the main specs which i have taken off the dell website, where i purchased it from. Genuinely interested buyers can ask me for the service tag of the laptop, and i will tell them how to go onto the dell website and they can confirm this and the order themselves.

It was shipped to me by Dell on: 30/10/2006

It has not been used that much and am now selling as need to raise some funds. I'm not sure what information to give, as you can see above it has 1gb RAM, core duo processer, 15.4 inch display etc.

The laptop is in good condition. Some general wear and tear as you would expect but obviously nothing major. This is an excellent laptop and i have had no problems at all with it!

The price i am asking for this is £200, or you can make me a offer, but i wont be going much lower as i think this is a great price.

I will add pictures up in a minute.

If anyone has any questions or needs further information please don't hesitate to ask.

#3
Hi, do you have any idea how much it would cost to send it special delivery?

£120 sounds to low though...

Yeah i can take paypal if thats how you want to pay :) Get back to me
#4

special delivery is £20

Thank you :)

£120 is too low sorry
#6
ok, no problem let me know if you change you mind.

i could maybe go a little higher to £140/£150 delivered.
you could also use pay per drop delivery, it is £6.99.

are you interested in a trade? i have a DS Lite with an R4DS card.
#7
marsland, have you got a website for this pay per drop courier?

I could perhaps lower to £160 delivered?

Sorry not looking for trades :)

www.interparcel.com

never used it before my self but it is talked about alot on this forum.
#9
Looks ok! Incredibly cheap compared to special delivery but can see no problems with it?

How about £155 delivered using that then? Let me know
#10
ill leave it for now, my opening offer still stands.
maybe someone else will take it at asking price.
just to let you know ive offered on a couple of laptops on the forums, in the past couple of days, with the same sort of spec. all the sellers want around about the £200 mark and not one has sold so far.
you not thought of selling on ebay?
#11
Yeah i have been lurking around and seen a few for sale here, it does seem like a dramatic laptop price drop, was only a year and a half ago i paid £500 for this!

£140 delivered would probably be the lowest at the moment if you want?

You are of course welcome if you are near cornwall to come and collect it if you are able to :)

Not actually a member of ebay, have thought about it, but heard alot about them ripping people off with fees etc so thought i would try stay clear :)
#12
Hi - I would be interested at £140 delivered if you post via Parcelfore 48 hour (£14.99) with tracking and insurance included.
Please let me know
Thanks
#13
I would take it at £135 delivered. I want to add Vista and so would need to add another 1GB of RAM, but can get that elsewhere. Could you pm me the service tag please? I don't need the more expensive Parcelforce. Cheapest delivery is ok. EDIT: as long as it is well parcelled!
#14
laptop traders are gonna jump on this thread. bargain at £160.

edit: if you look on ebay, this laptop but heavily broken (faulty keyboard, speakers, no adaptor and heavily scratched) is currently on £117 + vat + delivery lol.
#15
Do you think its too cheap ghost?

creekchubpikie, would need more especially if posting using that sorry.

Liddle ol'me, offer may not be enough, but will pm you tag now. At the moment just considering my options :)
#16
Max I can go to is £150 delivered and payment via Bank Transfer

If youre willing to accept the odd nigerian scammer ruining your auction youd definitely get the £200 on ebay. (minus, ebay + paypal, ~10% in fees).
#18
Thanks for the service tag. All seems fine with delivery date etc. Pity you didn't extend the warranty, but a year and a half should mean there's good life left yet. I disagree with ghost that it's a bargain at £160 (I would say that though!). I've recently bought a new Vostro 1000 with better spec (incl. 2GB RAM) for less than £210 delivered, so in my eyes this is worth about £140, especially as I'll have to purchase 2 x 1GB RAMs - about an extra £30 - to get it working with Vista (we don't use XP any longer). Anyway, this was for my daughter, and so what she doesn't know she was getting she won't miss, I suppose. I'm happy to go to £140 delivered, but that's my max I'm afraid. I can also do a bank transfer so that you won't lose anything in paypal. Thanks.
#19
No problem liddle :)

Yeah was thinking about extending it but as had no problems with it decided not too!

If you look at the service history you could see it has had a new keyboard and a new battery, as the old battery became slightly worn so i got them to send a new one :) Same with the keyboard, died a bit wasnt as "springy" if that makes sense!

To be honest with you i would actually prefer payment via paypal as i don't have online banking, and with paypal i would be able to see the money instantly and then know i have it before sending it.

Ghost, thanks for your advice, but not really looking to go to ebay at the moment, haven't even registered there always been put off it for some reason.

Creek, i would do £150 delivered using the interparcel thing, i believe they use the likes of parcel force and DHL anyway?

Liddle, will consider you next, just as creek asked first :)

Hope this is all ok, anything else you need to know get back to me,

Cheers
#20
Sound very fair. i will wait in the wings if Creek doesn't take it. Thank you TinTom (and btw, I could always deposit cash into your account through a local branch. This would also give you instant credit).

EDIT: p.s. where do you find service history on the dell site? I can only find original config details.

Now an update as want to make sure everyone knows what is happening.

Paypal limited my account - not sure why to be honest - so couldn't do anything with the money. I have refunded the money back to creekchubpikie as it let me do that, and i won't be using paypal again :)

Therefore, I have offered him the chance to pay for it using another method if he wishes, and i await his response :)

If he chooses not too though, the laptop will be back for sale - however payment would this time be by moneybookers. Moneybookers is similar to Paypal and works on the same basis :) If you don't have a moneybookers account, they are quick and easy to set up, and i have found it much better than paypal in my experience.

If wanting to pay by moneybookers i can drop the price by £10 :)

Cheers,

Tom

I will take it at £150 delivered if Creek doesn't want it. Seems like a fair price to me.

Could I still have second dabs then? I can use Moneybookers as you say, or, as offerered earlier, can deposit cash in your account so that you can see it straight away. Thanks :)
#31
Liddle ol' me has always been second in the line sorry wpunter, so i will offer it to him first if the original buyer now decides they don't want it :)

It seems like creekchubpikie has been online hours after i sent the PM, but I'll give it til this evening before offering to someone else.

Thanks

Thanks TT - I'll wait to hear from you then. Could you pm me if/when creek doesn't want it? (rather than having to watch the thread all day). We can then confirm what's happening on the thread. Thank you.

Okay no probs, I thought Liddle had said he would go no higher than £140 though, whereas I was offering you the £150 that Creek had offered thus making me next in line as I was offering you what you wanted for it. That's usually the case on this site.

Wayne :)
#34
I thought if i had offered it to someone first - whatever the price - then i must still offer it to them next, may be wrong though - I'll have a look, but to be fair liddle ol' me has been interested for a while :)

Still no response from creek - have just PM'ed him again
#35
Hi Tom - Yes - Sorry to here you had problems with your paypal account. I will set up moneybookers and send payment.
#36
Thanks, Will PM you moneybookers email - slightly different as used my old email for it.
