Hello,
Up for sale is a Dell Latitude CPx Laptop with leather laptop bag, extra battery, and additional pcmcia wifi and network cards.
It has served me well as a student but it is time for an upgrade.
This machine is fully capable of running XP or xubuntu linux smoothly and would be ideal for a light user or student.
The only problem with this machine is the hard drive has recently died so would need to be replaced.

Specs:
Processor: Pentium 3
RAM: 192 Mb
Hard Drive: 20gb, needs to be replaced.
2 modular slots for either batteries, floppy drive or CD-RW Drive
2 batteries, one is knackered and wont hold charge for very long, the other lasts much longer.

Any questions please ask
Cheers,
Nick
Shipping/Payment:
Payment via paypal or BT
Postage can be organised me or buyer or request

I agree, the processor speed is not the best but it does run XP without much hassle.
It is only really good for word processing and web browsing however it did run the original counter strike and Unreal tournament.

Cheers,
Nick

How about £50 delivered?
#22
I have also got spare casing, motherboard, screen and keyboars/trackpad I will throw in
#23
how much without all the extras above?
#24
really £50 delivered is about the lowest i could go, they are more "bonus" things i could include if you wanted them :)
#25
Explain the more bonus things.
#26
The are just spare parst for the laptop you could use if any part of it broke.
Motherboard CPU and bottom casing, Graphics card, Keyboard, touchpad and top casing and 56K modem
Cant find the screen right now.
They are all in working order.
#27
Graphics card???

Really didn't wan't to spend more than £40ish delivered anyway as I don't like the CPU speedd much.
#28
OK mate, how about £46?
It will be my last offer
#29

It's just a spare, the laptop has dedicated graphics processing
#30

A questison about the HD, it says none in the bios but you say 20 gig but needs replacing.

Is it faulty if so how bad i.e just bad sectors or on its way out.
#32
When i booted it up i didnt have the hard drive inserted.
Since I formatted it, it usually says it has failed smart check at bookup while other times it works?
#33
Can you disable s.m.a.r.t. checK?
#34
I'll think about this and say tommorow as I wasn ti for a present for parents
#35

Possibly in the bios but if you get smart warnings its usaually time to replace the HDD (unless it is a false positive)
#36
Would this run a Live-cd? Would the wifi card be picked up?
#37
Yep, i have run it from a linux live cd. As for the wifi card i assume so (most are detected out of the boc these days) but cannot guarantee it.
The laptop will come in a proper laptop case/bag btw
#38
Any more pics? Of it in Linux

Wifi card model no?
#39
Phillips CPWNA (it comes in box)
And is on madwifi driver compatibility list:

Could you install a linux installation onto a pendrive and would the laptop boot it? (USB boot?)
