I've decided to sell my trusty Dell M1530 as i dont really need a laptop at the moment.

The specs of it are:

Intel Core 2 Duo T7250 2.00GHz
2GB Ram
250GB SATA Hard Drive
8600M GT Dedicated Graphics Card
15.4 - 1280x800 Screen Resolution
6 Cell Battery
Remote Control
Fingerprint Scanner
Wifi
DVD RW Slot Loading Drive
HDMI Port
SD/MMC/MS/Pro Card Reader
5.1 Sound Card
Bluetooth

There are 2 years left on the XPS warranty

It comes with Vista Premium installed and i have all of the original Dell restore disks, the manuals, roxio cd creator, screen cloth and leather XPS folder, used to carry all of them.

I think i still have the orginal box and packaging for it

Pictures in next post.
Shipping/Payment:
Delivery will be by either Royal Mail Special Delivery or DHL, it will be insured for up to £500.

Collection is also available from Newcastle.

#4

#5

#7
has this got wireless n ?

and whats the memory of the graphics card
#8
The dedicated graphics memory is 256MB, but it has a total available memory of 1024MB.

The wifi network adapter is the Intel(R) Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN, im unsure if this is wireless n, im not too clued up on wifi.
#9
I'll give you £400 for it?
#10
Sorry thats a bit too low im afraid, im really looking for £450.

Yes, it is draft n and backwards compatible with a, b, & g. In other words it will work with all routers including the newer, faster, wireless n variety. Nice machine btw - we both have M1330s and love the build quality.

Interested in a trade with an inspiron 1520 plus cash?

Thanks for that LOM, i love my m1530 and will be really sorry to see it go, but it's not being used for its full potential so i might as well sell it to someone who will use it properly.

#23
what's the condition like, any scuffs or scratches ?

have you got the receipt?
#24
There are no scuffs or scratches as far as i can see. I originally bought it from a seller off of ebay, he bought outlet laptops from dell and sold them there, so i have an electronic version of the reciept. I've used the warranty a few times with no problems at all.

what did you use the warranty for and how do they validate the warranty ?

you got all original packaging?
#26
I have a good gaming rig that I'm going to sell btw - in case you don't make a deal above, I'd be happy to trade
#27
I've used the warranty for a number of things, the first being the dvd drive was a bit loud so they came out and replaced that, then the hard drive was a bit loud so they came and replaced that, and then finally the graphics card was getting a bit hot so they came out and replaced the motherboard, heatsinks, fans and graphics card, so theres not much left to the original laptop.

I'll be able to have a look for the original packaging later on when im home.

Would you be able to give me some more details on it and possibly some pics, if i bought this i would end up saving money compared to if i build a new machine. What mobo is it and what are the makes/speed of the ram? is it ddr2 ram? What case does it have? is it just 1 1TB hard drive? Is it a genuine version of vista? Im very interested in this btw.

yes ddr2 ram / it's a dell inspiron 530 so a solid build and quiet and never had a problem, 2008 model but upgraded the psu and graphics card to make it a solid gaming machine (runs COD4 / 5 perfectly) / yes, genuine version of Vista that came with it - premium - but it being a Dell I can change it to Ultimate 64bit if that's your preference / the RAM is currently PC2-5300 but I'd happily upgrade that for you and put in 4 x BN 1GB PC2-6400 sticks / the HDD is a single 1TB, again purchased more recently than the machine (a few months old) but I would also add a 2nd 500GB HDD, the one that came with the machine (again 7,200 RPM, I'm currently using it for backups in an external enclosure) / I can also add a BNIB wireless desktop and BNIB 2.1 logitech speakers if you want them.

oh yes, and the vista rating in this will surprise you - will post the results if you are still interested.

I think i'd prefer to go with this than having the cash, sorry rashriaz. I've just got a few more questions:

What is the condition of the case? Would you be able to upload a picture or 2?

Does it have any warranty left?

What DVD drives does it have with it?

What make are the graphics card and power supply and do you have reciepts for them?

What is the vista rating of it?

Good questions! Give me a few minutes to connect everything and boot it up. It's currently not being used as I went mad and bought an even higher-spec machine last month
#37
Ok, Vista ratings first:

Processor = 5.7
Memory RAM (with only 2 x 1GB of PC2-5300) = 5.8
Graphics = 5.9
Gaming graphics = 5.9
Primary HDD = 5.9

So you can see it maxes out in all but the proc (I'm sure the RAM will when I add the new faster 800mhz sticks)

No warranty with Dell as it only had a year to begin with (think it finished in Feb -will check), and anyway, the upgrades wouldn't be covered by Dell - the new psu even has it's own on/off button at the back. I don't have the recipts for the graphics card and psu unfortunately but can assure you they are both only a few months old and hardly used. Although I'm pretty sure the gfx card was bought at amazon so will look into that and let you know.

It's this PSU

http://www.compucase-hec.co.uk/psu_xpower_light-480-580-680.htm

and this graphics card

http://www.play.com/PC/PCs/4-/7200014/Zotac-GeForce-9800GT-512MB-Synergy-Edition-Graphics-Card/Product.html?source=5066&engine=froogle_pc&keyword=Zotac+GeForce+9800GT+512MB+Synergy+Edition+Graphics+Card

(sorry has come down a bit - £99.99 - was well over £100 when purchased!)

case is fine but has a few small dents on side panels (will post details pics)

DVD is 16X DVD +/- RW

Has multi card reader as standard

and I've added three firewire ports at the back with an internal card - which reminds me I need to check it. Just added it to a pci slot and forgot about it as I'm using the new rig which has firewire ports.

Can post detailed pics and other details as required :)

Just to clarify one of you're previous posts, are you including the 4GB pc6400 sticks and extra 500gb hard drive for free?

Yes, I felt that your machine is worth more, so I will purchase the RAM and Wireless desktop separately and add them. The 500GB I have already, so yes, I'll also add that for free. You caught me on a generous day :-D and tbh, the desktop is no good to me now I have the quad core. It is sitting unused. :( The laptop will be used by my daughter!
#40
Again just to clarify lol, i'd be getting:

PC + 4GB DDR2 PC6400 + 500GB HD + Wireless Desktop and you also mentioned 2.1 logitech speakers?
