DESPERATELY WTD; HOUSE FURNITURE!

I have a friend who is moving into her 1st place but is struggling to get primarily a sofa, washing machine, cooker and chest of drawers that she can afford. Located on the borders of west and south yorkshire I would greatly appreciate it if anyone has any of the aforesaid or general houseware they'd either like to sell or clearout.
Many Thanks in advance.xx

It would be really helpful to this girl if some generous, kind hearted people could have a wee bit of a whip round their house and see if there's anything you don't really use anymore. Anything from bedsheets and towels to the previously mentioned sofa. Can't get on freecycle yet still waiting to be approved and I am desperate to help where I can she deserves a bit of good luck.

Having looked on ebay, I'd want around £100 which may be too much for your friend.
I live in Louth which is near Lincoln, so not on Donnys doorstep but not a million miles away either :)

Electric cooker, Creda Jackson J160EW. I would say we got it in 2005.

Thank you very much for your offer but i'm afraid you're right, it is too much for her, was kinda hoping more in the region of £40...... will have to hope and pray something comes up but thank you and good luck with ebay, things do seem to be going well on there.x

Heres a good tip for your friend.

Go to ebay and look for furniture there. If she goes to the 'Advance settings' she can set it so it only shows items available to her locally. Now if she goes for things like fridges, sofas etc. they will more than likely be pick up only.

As it is pick up only, it seriously brings the number of potential buyers way down so they have a big chance of picking up stuff for only a few pounds.

My friend did this after my advice and ended up getting a fridge/freezer, 2 sofas, a large wooden kitchen table with 6 chairs and a 28inch tv and stand for less than £100 altogether.

Also agree with the post above about freeycle.

Also try your local gumtree.com or check ad-trader, sometimes they give it away.

Thats a good tip, I frequently run a search within 10 miles for "collection only","pickup only" etc. amazing what you can pick up for next to nothing
