Many thanks. Not really looking to make much money from it all - just need the space!

It's incredible just how much stuff you need for a wee one - and how much space it takes up!

WOW!:w00t:

Thanks very much for your kind thoughts - we're pretty anxious about it really, already been to the hospital 3 times since the scan with problems - not been there for over 2 weeks now, expecting a call to say they're missing us!:whistling:

February 10th - getting organised early!;-) Can't find out the sex until the next scan, but we would like a surprise.

We had the same problem, it was like something from a horror movie - the gynaecologist wasn't exactly inspiring with her conclusions when we were in A&E, but eventually found out everything was ok when we got the scan - same thing 4 days later - it's been fun!

It's all pretty scary stuff if you've never experienced it before!

The scan revealed that it was a Subchronic Haematoma - bruise to you and I next to the neonatal sac - apparently they're relatively common, and most are reabsorbed into the womb - some collapse and cause bleeding.

Will get pics up when he/she pops out!

This is the scan from week 12.

a recommendation for your chest of drawers, use it as a baby changing facility, get a changing mat, and put it on the top, with some edging round it, you'll need all the storage space you can get for babies clothes and everything, all nappies and wipes etc in the top drawer

Something similar to this it would become

Thanks for the tip! Yeah, we had thought about that, but my wife is on the small side (unlike me) and couldn't reach the top of the 5 drawer unit and the 3 drawer is too small storage wise - We're going to get a wardrobe from Ikea with plenty storage instead.

Thanks to all for your kind comments.:)

Aww so beautiful, I had my last baby in May, a little girl, I have one of each so no more. The scan is really detailed for a 12 week scan.

I would say one thing, don't get too caught up in what the shops say you should have, the things I found most useful was a:
high chair that later turned into a table and chair,
a splash mat to save your floor but you could just buy a cheap plastic playmat or table cloth, also useful for messy play later on
Dr browns bottles were great for preventing wind, I bought 8 on Ebay and just replaced the teats but tomy tippee bottles are great, they're called close to nature.
a decent breast pump is a must if your partner is breast feeding.
a steam steriliser
a moses basket for downstairs
a travel cot, we got ours for £10 from Netto five years ago and it's still going strong, also doubles as a play pen later on.
stair gates, cupboards latches, not for the danger, it's so you won't have to put stuff out of your cupboards away five times a day. We got really great stair gates from our local surestart for £10 each.
a cot bed was a really good idea, it lasted for years and was comfy, when my little boy got older we just got a free bed rail from freecycle and that worked great.
an undercot drawer is a good idea but not necessary, it's just kind of handy for those little bits and bobs.

Don't bother with a baby bath and changing unit, just use the bed to change and the bath. I also wouldn't really buy a baby carrier, you'll probably find the buggy handy for your shopping, and most places are buggy friendly anyway. I bought a mothercare trenton travel system second hand for £50 from ebay, it was immaculate. The first time round my inlaws bought a Graco travel system from Mothercare for £250 and it would be still going strong if my heavy handed sister broke the wheel off. I stil don't know how she did it because it's really sturdy and built like a tank. The girl has skills!!

Not trying to lecture you or anything, it's really easy to get caught up in the stuff you don't need, it looks great and you get seduced but most of the time don't really use the stuff.
Try freecycle, I got a beautiful cot that would have been £300 if I'd bought it new, I just cleaned it up with anti bac spray and bought a new mattress for £27.

Look up your local surestart, we use them a lot and have been out on free day trips, a free holiday to wales with food, accomodation and activities for nothing, they have fun days, baby massage and everything, seriously they are great. Look here for your local one:
http://www.surestart.gov.uk/surestartservices/settings/fundedsettings/

See if your local council offer any nappy grants, mine offers £50 towards reusable nappies. Also if you have low income you could get a £500 surestart grant:
http://www.surestart.gov.uk/surestartservices/support/helpwithchildcarecosts/maternitygrant/
You may also be able to get healthy start vouchers depending on your income:
http://www.healthystart.nhs.uk/
If you're going with formula try and see if your health centre sells it for cheaper, sometimes they do and anything that saves you money is good!!!

Congratulations and good luck with your baby. Keep us posted when you find out if you're having pink or blue one. Pictures would be lovely when your baby arrives. Sorry for the long winded post but if I think of anything else, I'll add it. Good Luck!!!!
