Hi there,
I'm wanting to trade the digital stick for an analogue one, so didn't think there would be a price needed?
#3
Sorry mate .
You must always put a price.
#4
if anyone has produced an analogue usb stick it would have to have built in mpeg encoder to feed up the usb and that shoves the price up 3 fold, what u need is a usb capture device but it will either be expensive or poor quality

what is the point of that if he doesn't want to sell, he has stated his price, its a analogue usb capture device
#6
Righto. Well Ideally i wanted to trade it, but if what you say is true, and the price would be bumped up, I'm willing to trade the digital stick and add some extra cash on top to get a usb analogue one.

had a look round out of interest, not many about but this looks like it will do job cost £90, most large retailers do pci variation for bot 50 and nearly all had usb dvb-t sticks for bout 15, u may have to wait a while for a trade
#8
Cheers maddogb, If it's gonna be £90 might knock it on the head and just flog this cheaply, as i only wanted to be lazy and watch sky on my puter without having to go to a different room :0).
Will have a think, is it possible for me to change the item price and the like?

Cheers

I have a analogue one some where but it oly has aerial yellow and svideo input?
#10
Thats fine, Basically all i need it for is the aerial input. I've piped sky around my house and foolishly thought the digital one would be able to pick up the output from my sky box.

Sadly it doesn't work, so I need a standard analogue one with an aerial socket so i can plug straight from the wall into the usb stick and that should be it sorted!
#11
ahh i see i thought you where connecting it via red white and yellow i shall see where i put it and give you the model pic etc.

how exactly have u piped it?, if its just the aeriel from the dish that wont work with an analogue unit either, it needs to be decoded, and u need a sat card for that, if its just an rf out from your skybox an analogue may do it but youll need to watch it has rf in

the yellow is unlikely to be a rf or aeriel input, usually a rca phono for direct video
#14
Hi Maddogb,

Yeah, It's RF out, all i need is a usb stick with an aerial input on it. I had it working months ago, but with a PCI card. After a new PC I just never got round to sorting it out properly again!
#15
ohh is forgot to say it isnt a stick its a box with a usb cable out of it the box is about 15*5cm if i remember and it does have the aerial input.
#16
no worries. If you do find it let me know model and if its got a standard aerial jack and i will have a think!
#17
it is a Hauppauge WinTV USB Model 40205 Rev B298

http://www.hauppauge.co.uk/pages/products/data_usb.html
#18
hmm. does it have it an aerial socket? it doesn't seem to show it on the picture unlesss i'm being a bit thick (not suprised if that is the case!).
#19
its at the end opposite the usb input cable the metal thing in the picture.
#20
Ah Cool. How much you want for it?
#21
I just notied you want VISTA compatible i am not sure it is and cant see anything in Hauppage website to help? Still happy to deal if you still want it?
#22
I honestly have no idea on the price but say £22 or make me an offer as i have no idea?

BTW. i wouldn't like the freeview stick i have 3 freecom ones i have collected lol. Also if it does work with vista i saw on the website, there is a piece of software that if ay camera is plugged in it will notice movement on the camera and record/photograph it which seems pretty useful.
#23
Thanks jamhops! have just found one on ebay for £0.99 so I'm gonna have a bash on that first and i'll get back to ya, thanks muchly.
yeah, sounds like a cheap way to get cctv around your house to me :D
#24
how much they normally sell for on ebay then? ohh any you need the converter to the yellow plug for cctv? and id go to £17 as looking on eBay i could get that for it
#25
dunno, you can pick ones up dirt cheap that have no aerial input, just tapped in wintv, and found that one and a few more all starting at £0.99. One of which is finishing in bout half hour. seems ridiculously cheap to me though?!
#26
dunno but i saw most go for £13+£2 postage without the covertor which makes it useful as cctv. I would go to £16/15 if you want? but lower and i might just try the camera thing myself lol.

EDIT Just checked and has original install disc with Software
#27
thanks jamhops, managed to get one for £6 so i'll have to pass this time. Will now attempt to mark this as expired and then just try redoing it as a for sale item later in week..
