Are they the ones from picture below? Could i have some pictures of them please..

Where u located? - I gotta be honest.. Seeing prices they go for on avforums, £115 is very high... Delivery isn't gonna be much over £15.

Bit of a newbie when it comes to this stuff, so got some questions..

I see from the specs bit - it has 2x HDMI in.. 1x HDMI out.. Component In etc..

So lets say... I have my SkyHD box / Bluray player going into it with the HDMI.. Xbox 360 going in with the component.. Then the HDMI out hooked upto my TV..

The amp then pumps out all the sound through to the speakers connected to it, and then the video through HDMI out to my TV? ye?

Also could u get some pictures taken of the stuff?

Plus is everything in good condition?

EDIT: Actually looking at spec - does this model AMP have any HDMI? - Think i looked at V3 by mistake..

What are my options then with as far as pumping out my sound to it to the speakers from my TV / 360 / SkyHD box.

no hdmi on this mate there a feww hundred quid extra,

iv got my xbox connected via optical cable
my tv connected via optical
my ps3 connected via optical
and my dvd connected via coaxial

my old sky box had optical out so yours should

amp has 3 opticals and 3 coaxial outputs when connected with these will give you dts and digital dolby which are by far the best way to connect

everything in good condition for the money i doubt you will get a better set up than this

can take pics and get them up in a while

also has the usual coaxil output which i connect my ipod with

Yeah been chatting to a audio mad friend of mine on the phone about this, got him to review it all for me.

This is beyond me, so i'm relaying a question here that he told me to ask.

- The range hz (or summit) on the speakers.. Do the speakers come with a sub woofer and he said with that speaker set, he doubts i'll get much if any way of base.. Or is your experience different of them.

Also down to my questions.. Since this is model wise, 4 years or so old.

You're asking £150 delivered for the lot atm..

What is your best price, i know u say its a good price.. And im slightly inclined to agree, but as my friend said.. It's a 4 year old model, and informed me they tend to be hard to sell now as everyone wants HDMI ones. So on that basis and his opinion, i'd wanna pay less tbh. He didn't have much comment on the speakers tho except the bass, as he's not used them and doesn't know the make.

I am genuinely interested though. This is just all so far out of my depth though that ive gotta take my friends opinion and look for a reduction in price.

hi i wouldnt take any less would want the 150 and courier charges as prev stated

speakers arent basy but no surround set up is not possible to get the bass in such small speakers and is an eltax sub with them

the speakers and amp are three years old and both were new out when purchased, if you wanted to but an hdmi amp that acually uses the hdmi for true dolby sound minimum would be 220 for just the amp otherwise all the hdmi does is switch the channel over for you

Ah right, sorry not interested.. Have done some research on resale value on the amp (£60-80) itself and the speakers. Price is to high im afraid.

Plus i'd imagine delivery costs would be around £10-15 at the most looking at courier costs.
#13
no probs mate , id like to see where you so them selling both for 60 - 80, and didnt state a courier price valued them both at 75 each amp and speakers
#14
I would have to agree spritey.
Hold out a bit longer you should get a decent setup for £100 - £150. Don't be fooled by big audio names as although they make great products, they are only great when they come out... 3 years is a LONG TIME. £150 for the setup above IS a little overpriced IMHO! Although if the price was to come down a tad it would be a decent setup as you would agree at being a 'novice' at home audio!

See as the guy above states - this seems to be the opinion i've gotten off all audio friends ive asked..

Now i can appreciate the amp is worth on its own between £60-80 (sent you a PM listing one that went for £75 earlier).. But the speakers are very hard to value - The brands more recent speakers (beech ones) are very very cheap.. Which makes me think that the ones you're selling aren't worth much at all.. £20?.. I've no idea, but it's hard to value such budget speakers when u can't find some solid comparisons online. Plus allot of people telling me not to even bother with the speakers, but tbh im a novice as i've said.. Probabley an ok starting point for me to have such a cheapo set.

I'll offer you £90 all in, for the speakers and the amp including delivery.. Delivery set you back around £7-14 (probabley be £7 depending on on whether it goes over 25KG - shouldn't do, but if it does just pack the speakers seperately and its £14)..

Can pay by BT - should clear instantly.

Beyond that, think i'll leave it and take others advice and wait for something better around the £100-150 range.

p.s: thanks for advice norfolk_enchance :). It's been mad researching amps, all new to me..

sorry mate wouldnt take any less eltax do low budget speakers you can get on ebay as most makes do,
but these arent there there mid range same as amp made out of aluminium and cost over 300 new, the amp has just about every feature that a new one has apart from hdmi and 7.1 but is a good make as prev stated hdmi is pretty useless on an amp unless upsacling or for truedts or dolby which is only avalible on bluray, i wouldnt recomend buying low end amp hdmi or not

True mate - but i can't ignore what amp is selling for elsehwere, or how cheap eltax speakers are... And there speakers are very old, so while they may have been mid range back then.. They may not be now, and well.. I can't ignore that as a buyer. Essentially it's kit that is model wise 4 years old.. Which is quite a long time, so i think reflecting on all of that.. My offer is good.

You've got my offer tho mate, if u change ya mind.. Let me know. If not i'll carry on searching.

Bump 1

Note to All:

Budget increased to £170 - any setup must now come with an amp.

Realized i do need an amp now for this setup, wish i had bought the one i was gonna get at the weekend. But backed out in the end, realize now its a MUST. hehe

no probs mate, i offered amp for same price as you stated 75 and speakers are an absolute bargain for 75, they maybe 3 years old but cost over 600 hundred together then, as stated eltax are a very good brand of speakers they do do rubbish too though as all brands , so what you get for 150ish now is no comparison to this set up for that price you wont get much for your cash

Seems others would disagree though, from advice someone has given on this thread. My friend and other PMs i've recieved on here just recently. As much well as a good 32" CRT TV was probabley worth £200-300 4 years ago, it's not worth much at all now. Which is my personal feeling regarding the speakers, due to the low pricing they have there current line up for.

I stand by my £90 offer. Shame we cant agree on it.
#21
id say the advice is way of the mark, you will prob find out for yourself you cant compare newer low end set up with mid end older set up especially when the features have not really changed at all, and comparing speakers which are never going to change much to tv which have changed drasticlly is just not valid, have a look in richer sound if you want to get a idea on prices for eltax

Personally mate, I'd agree your price is fair given the kit + postage costs!!

Yeah seeing you tried to sell the amp to someone else and they wouldnt offer anymore than £60 for that alone.. I think were at a cross roads of no return hehe. Selling prices that the amp has gone for generally elsewhere - and unknown resale value of speakers.

I'd go upto a max of £95.

Postage costs are gonna be £14 max, so not like shipping is setting you back a huge amount.

I think though we can consider this is a bust hehe. As you won't move on price, and i won't come up (well a fiver) but no more than that.

Thanks anyway.
