sells at maplin for £60
#6
Also, any ideas if it works correctly with Vista?
#7
all set up an access is through internet explorer and the netowrk "my network places"
so yup, works on any OS
#8
Can you get me further details like a model number for it... need to check it's Vista compatible as about 50% of them aren't without a firmware update :)

And if it needs a firmware update, I wanna check its available ;)

Cheers

No model number, but here it is at maplins website...
http://www.maplin.co.uk/Search.aspx?criteria=a61fy&doy=25m9&source=15

There is a link to firmware at that page too
I've had this running on Mac OS X and Windows via bootcamp
#10
OK mate, I'm interested, but have to wait for stuff in my own thread to sell first!
#11
no probs
it's still available
#12

#13
i have sent payment for the nas drive but your inbox is full so unable to pm you!

the 250gb hard drive you were going to give with it, the western digital, which model number is it, a WD2500BB ?
#14

Where did you get it from and could you please show me some pics if it's not too much trouble?

Cheers

how much for the hard drive
#16
robgoldt - sorry, cleared the inbox now. payment has arrived for the NAS and I'll get it out to you tomorrow morning
The Drive is a WD2500JB it has an 8mb cache vs the 2500BB which only has a 2mb cache

roadie - the internal 250gb that I have (now the NAS is sold) is £32.50 with next day shipping.
The external 250gb (the bottom pic in my original post) is £45 with next day shipping

Rash - it's from ikea and it's the "VIKA GLASHOLM" in Large

#17
whats the difference between the hard drives
#18
is the VIKA GLASHOLm in large a tabletop?
#19
roadie - one of the hard drives is internal for putting in a PC or enclosure and one is external so it just needs plugging into a usb port.
and yes, the Vika is a tabletop
#20
Prices dropped

now £42.50 for enclosed 250gb drive
and £30 for internal 250gb

£30 for a 250gb drive...bargain!
#21
the WD2500JB is it just that, its not a WD2500JB-SE by any chance?

only reason is i want it for a xbox, and the SE don't have security lock so cant be used! but WD2500JB is fine
#22
W00t.... another xbox modder! :D

Which method do you use? I went with the nDure one, then installed EvoX and XBMC

I'm guessing it's the SE
the model is MDL : WD2500JB - 22GVCO

but at the top of the drive under the Western Digital Logo it says
"WD Caviar SE Enhanced IDE Hard Drive"

it's a Maxtor and it's only an 8mb cache.

#40
sorry, missed your post.
I'm selling them without warranty as I no longer have the reciept for the drive.
it's a WD drive and they come with 3yr warranties, as I said it's less than 6 months old so there is a warranty there
just not sure how anyone could claim it without proof of purchse
