F/S F/T Juwel Monolux 80 Aquarium SOLD

Hi all,

My children (and myself included) have grown tired of our aquarium and would like to pass it on to a more enthusiastic home. It's only a year old and comes complete with all necessary parts - lighting, pump, filter, heater, oxygen, thermometer, magnet glass cleaner, electric gravel cleaner, gravel and decorations. We can find a new home for the fish if you dont want them.
It's up for sale or trade and I'll consider any sensible offer or swap but the buyer/collector will need to collect as it is rather large - Newmarket, Suffolk.

Thanks for looking, any questions welcome

Thanks

Oooooo, How big is it?
How many fish do you have?
Any instructions, such as how warm it should be etc etc.

Sorry, how rude of me.
Welcome to HUKD :)

Hello, and thanks,

Its 88 litres, there is a shark fish (?), little neon, a dwarf plecki (cleans tank) and normal plecki.

The thermometer has ideal temp marked on it and there really isnt much more you need to know, replace filters every month, add water here and there. Special chemicals for any diseases (you sometimes get them when you get new fish) have there own instructions. Its not rocket science and doesnt take too much care but you do need to be involved, you cant just leave it (I suppose like any pet).

I have plenty of food left and bucket as well if you like.

Hiya.
V pretty tank!
Have you considered trying one of the dedicated fish forums?
TFF - thefishforums.net is a good one - should go v quickly.. and will almost certainly get more than £30.
Though "replace filters every month" isn't good advice - it kills the bacteria which help the nitrogen cycle and can cause ammonia buildup - which of course can kill.

Thanks for the reply.
Can you measure the tank please. I may want to move my Gecko and put it where he is/was. :)
#8
Thanks for the tips guys. Funny you say that about the filters, the juwel filter says to replace the carbon filter each month(?)
#9
The tank measures L - 80cm, H - 40cm, D - 30cm

Sorry I forgot to post

Does it mean the carbon bits? The little black pieces?

The filter itself, should be washed in the water your fish are currently in, and not fresh water. As for replacing it, I have no idea? I havnt done that and my fish are very healthy.

Carbon isn't too brilliant an idea - it creates a dependancy. Any filter medium will work if it can grow bacteria to kick start the nitrogen cycle.
Companies love selling carbon as they get recurring business - most people buy the official juwel ones - wilkos do a huge box of carbon filter floss for 95p or so n it'll last a year if your set on using carbon.
#13
The filter is seperated into sections one being a carbon filter that we clean in the water each week and replace each month. Quite possibly it is a desposable that doesnt need replacing every month but hey ho juwel need to make their money somewhere(!!)
