This is a cracking little phone for somebody looking for an iPhone alternative, many of the features on this are actually better than the iPhone, take the screen for example which is of a higher resolution than the iPhone and the camera this boasts is also better quality than the one on the iPhone.

Comes Boxed with sealed official earphones, sealed usb cable and charger.

It costs about £10 to unlock it. which I will take off the £80 so say £70 delivered and you can get it unlocked yourself?

based on CEX prices and closed bay prices I will offer you £45 shipped

this is based on your post in my other thread that it will work with an O2 sim and not having orange flash screen on boot up - i.e. no branding

if you can do that then let me know

EliTom

Am I right in assuming that this is the LG KM900 Arena as opposed to the LG GT950 Arena? The KM900 has the 8GB storage, whereas the GT960 has 150MB storage. I only ask because if it is indeed the KM900, it's over a year old already. I was just wondering why this is still 'new'? Surely you didn't just upgrade to an old phone?

Anyway I am interested... as I'm on the market for a new mobile... after being left somewhat disappointed by my dad's new Samsung Wave. I had high hope for it, and while it is a good phone, the software (Kies) is just horrific.

I may have to do a bit of research on this LG phone as it seems decent enough.

Yeah this is the LG Arena KM900 with 8gb storage built in, its still in fairly mint condition because I always look after my stuff and only got it about 6 months or so ago.

OK I would take a punt at this but at my original offer of £45 shipped as there are some website that say the orange version of the software is terrible

for example here

Yeah but what he/she is trying to say is that once you change the sim it'll be fine! Most are on Orange tbh.

Also what colour is this?

yes it will work on other sim - understand taht - but Orange "mess" with the firmware and make it not so good a user interface and this is not depending on the sim used.

I have had other Orange phones and the things Orange do to the firmware is criminal in some cases.

From all accounts the stock firmware is much better but the orange versions are firmware locked. that is not the same as sim lock by teh way.

Anyhow i will offer £45 shipped and will pay first - just let me know but i will be off line now for a few hours - travelling home soon.

Will check back about 6is this eve

Cheers

OK just looking at some reviews online

but just noticed you have not actually posted any pics of the phone - can you post a pic of the phone with your user name and todays date - that is normal practice here anyway

cheers

sure I can do that but going by your previous posts on the thread you don't seem willing to meet the asking price, before I go to the trouble of posting the pics of it with my username and todays date next to it can you confirm that you ACTUALLY want the phone for the asking price?

OK will meet you in the middle (£50) and it can be shipped 2nd class post, I am in no great hurry as I am on business out of the UK for most of the week.

I see you have sold something at £50 before with good feedback and i am quite happy to do BT for payment

TBH its a bit of an impulse purchase for my wife. She has just tried an Andriod phone and did not like it but fortunately it could be returned.

She likes the look of the Omnia i900 and I got one at a good price off eBay last night but she does like LG phones so was looking at the Arena or Renoir

The thing is I want to be in a position top sell it again if she does not like it or I cannot get on with it. I would use either as my work phone.

Just trying to be a straightforward as i can with you and trying to minimise any potential losses as we may not keep the Samsung or this if I do get it.

Cheers

mate I already dropped my price down from £70 to £55 so I'm going to stick to £55 for the time being as there is another member interested in it also.

The Renoir has got an 8MP camera but it is also resistive touchscreen where as the Arena is capacitive ie. you can use your fingers instead of a stylus.

OK the mouse is twitching now

Will go to £55 is you can assure me that the comments from http://www.mobile-phones-uk.org.uk/lg-arena.htm are not true - in particular...

..Update [May 2009]: it has become apparent that Orange have done something awful to this phone. They've removed Google Maps, replaced the web browser and music player with their own contraptions, and done something to stop you viewing youtube videos. Most of the bad user reviews below are from Orange users. The answer's simple: don't buy this phone on Orange, and don't upgrade to it if you're currently on Orange. Get a new contract instead. You have been warned!!

Second update [June 2009]: We've been reading the user reviews for the Arena with dismay, because it's apparent that many of you guys are having real problems with this phone freezing, crashing or completely shutting down. We don't know whether this is simply an Orange problem, or if it happens on other networks too. Although many users report no problems, there are too many reports of things going worng for us to ignore, and so we've downgraded our rating from 5 stars to 4 stars. This doesn't mean that we've changed our opinion - it just reflects the "risk factor" that you might end up with one of the dud Arenas.

now you can see why I am wary of an Arena with Orange software!
