I considered selling and then buying a sat nav but thought I would give this a try first, so there is every chance I will sell.
I have to go out now. Will look at what it is worth when I return.
I live in North Yorkshire now and they do not have any speed cameras here !!!

Hi,

Can you take some photos of the kit on offer?

Also, do you know if the subscription can be transferred from one owner to another?
(And exactly what is included in the subscription).

Thanks.

BFN,

fp.

Never realy tested to battery flat, longest I have probably used it is 5 hours and it was still good.
With wall charger and incar charger I have never let it run flat.

as you can pick up tom toms v3 for £70, ill offer £65? (based on your assumption for trade for a good sat nav) :)

If you buy this unit you will need to take the subs @ £50 so you want me to sell it for £15 delivered.
I could get £65 just for the unit without subs, and I said trade not swap for sat nav.
I would call the Garmin Nuvi 205 WT a Quality SWAP.
So will end on here tonight if no interest, not giving it away !!!!!

Thanks for the photo.

Are the subscriptions £50 annually?

Sorry to labour the point, but what are you paying for with the subscription?
Usage of the network, or 'free' downloads to the unit for the duration of the subscription?

Also, is any wiring necessary in the vehicle? Do you need to attach anything to the windscreen or do you just mount the unit somewhere on your facia or dashboard & switch it on?

Thanks again.

Reading the link you provided [often helps, sorry]..

EASY UPDATES
With the number of speeding cameras set to dramatically increase and accident data changing constantly, Blackspot Interactive are constantly working to verify new locations and delete obsolete ones. These changes are easily updated to your ROAD ANGEL with the supplied software. The first six months of updates are free of charge. Subsequent subscription charge of £3.99 per month by Direct Debit, a minimum 12 month contract is required.

...

Please Note; vehicles with UV Reflect windscreens will need an additional antenna
---

Not sure if I would need the additional antenna or not. [EDIT: £24.99]

I'm guessing you download the updates from an internet site, connect the Road Angel Plus unit by USB to your PC & squirt the updated location database to the internal storage.

Typically how often is the database updated?

BFN,

fp.

Yes you update via short cut created on your desk top, takes about 2/3 mins with usb.
---------
It is recommended to update weekly.

Thanks. Only thing holding me back is whether I'll need the antenna or not.

I'll have to check & get back to you.

The one with daily usage is a Chrysler 300c (SRT-8). However, I would also like to use the device in my (US Imported) Chevrolet Suburban.

Let me know what way you want to go as I intend closing this listing on here very soon and just selling elsewhere as I need to buy myself a sat nav.
thanks

I may not get the opportunity to research today, so please do what you need to do. Closing upon you reading this if you wish.

When (or, indeed if) I find out what I need to know I'll come back, and if the thread is still active I'll post again.

Good luck.

guessing thats a no on my revised offer then?

Thanks for offer but I can't let it go at that price.
These are selling on ebay for that kind of money with no subscription.
It seems even on here when you offer something at a bargain price people still want to cut it down.
If I had asked for £150 which would have been reasonable would you have been happy to offer me £120 ???

It's the way it is here due to the nature of the site (unfortunately, or fortunately, depending on whether you are a buyer or a seller).

To be fair, you've already said that the subscription goes with the unit, so that's already been paid for & a benefit to the buyer, but realistically you cannot expect anybody to pay again for it, as much as it is a loss to you in real terms. On the other hand, it is money you have paid out for the running of the unit to this point. If you buy a used car, for instance, and it has road tax remaining, then this can be cashed-in to recoup some of your outlay. But this is not the case here (from what you have said above).

The unit is over 12 months old & out of warranty, so it is a gamble for anyone to take it knowing that it would be costly to repair (or replace) in the event of failure. I'm guessing (from values I was seeing last night via other sites) that if you "shopped around" you could probably buy a new unit (with 12 months warranty) for £75-80 more than your expectations on price (and a free period for updates would be included too).

If I were you I would accept the offer you have. It's £85 minus postage you wouldn't have otherwise, and perhaps almost the money you need to buy a pre-owned Sat Nav unit, or stick out for your original asking price. If interested parties really do want to snag a second hand bargain & they have the disposable income, then they'll meet you there.

However, you may find an eBay buyer willing to pay £120 (or more) as they may not ask questions about warranty & original purchase date before using "Buy It Now" if you make your description attractive enough. The remaining subscription period may be a selling point to somebody looking to save money in the long term.

£120 may also be a real bargain to someone with 9 points on their licence already :)

Good luck either way.

At the end of the day, its up to you what you want to sell it at. I will not offer £100 as i can get a new road angel compact for that price with 12 months warranty and 6 months subs.
i would be taking a risk as well as the unit is out of warranty, so if it dies within a week, you wouldnt replace/refund it would you?
#31
I am not selling a compact but a road angel PLUS
and it is not 6months subs but over 10months
My lowest would have been £95
I dont think I am going anywhere on here so I have asked for thread to be closed.

thank you
