What is wrong with it? My pals stopped loading up, he phoned sony and they sent him a replacement the next day!
it just doesn't read anything.
mines quite old though. doesn't it have to be within the first 12 months for sony to do something?

its worth asking if its a UK console it can only be 14 months old anyway. Just call Sony and say your disappointed in the quality of such an expensive product, I've seen other people get helped when its just be out of warranty. If not they may offer to repair it quite cheaply to keep you happy.

You don't ask, you don't get.......

His was only about 6 months old but he bought it 2nd hand and had no reciepts, as previous poster says, its worth a phone call - if you dont ask you dont get

Let us know how you get on

Someone may be more informed here, but under the sale of goods act there is something known as a life expectancy of goods which basically makes the usual manufacturers warranty irrelevant....an item costing that price should expect to last longer than 14 months, google the sale of goods act. i am sure a company as big as Sony would warrant a free repair if pushed on that.
Hmm... I may have one I'm willing to sell, where are you based?

EDIT: Now sold to a friend
