You will probably have to send first because your brand new cant really see anyone sending payment first unless you have feedback elsewhere. Provide feedback and photos to your listing.

hmm you can check my eBay feedback? Natheynath1990 is my eBay username. No way im sending out a 1k laptop first though. the price has been discounted from RRP and there is always a risk in trading online. If it is a risk a buyer is unwilling to take, then don't send, but i accept PayPal so you hhave insurance there.

Was just giving you advice mate. Id feel the exact same way by the way, I just wanted you to be informed and expect it.

ok cheers mate, but as said, there is always a risk trading online so people should expect that. i am not intending on scamming anyone which is why i allow paypal. i have openly showed my ebay account so if anyone is interested, let me know.

Good luck with sale mate

but see it from the buyer's perspective, they dont want to see the word 'risk' when they are parting with £800... semantics matter in things like this

yes well as said, there is nothing supporting me if i were to send out an item before i have been paid, but the buyer at least has protection via paypal. so surely the risk is higher for me, so why would i do it? i am offering this laptop at a great discount to the retail price and use your knowledge of paypal to know that it is hard to get away with scamming via paypal from a sellers point of view. i dont know how, or have heard of any seller who has managed to scam someone over paypal. at the end of the day, if you want the laptop, then message me, if not, then don't. i am not willing to send first, i have no reason to, i just thought i would try on here as opposed to eBay since eBay take massive fees, but if i'm not going to get anywhere on here, it will have to do.

Collection an option? Would be a good way of easing any potential anxieties

hi nathan,
i wasnt criticising you, just trying to convey how wary people are buying an expensive item from a non-retail entity (person!), i wasnt for a minute trying to suggest you were dodgy ;-) love-in

i realise that mate, don't worry. i would have reservations too if i was buying an item like that but paypal really does minimize the risk

Could you put a pic up (you can upload onto imageshack or photobucket for free) of the laptop with a piece of paper with your username written on it in the picture? It's recommended on the FS forum to show the item is in your possession. Cheers.
#12
Yes, please provide a picture of the actual item (with HUKD or your username next to it) rather than just a stock image!! :)

Location?

Also, PayPal offers no insurance.

Not really....All you'd have to do is get the money...tansfer to your bank...close paypal account.....make up excuses while waiting for account to be closed and BAM...you are £800 richer
