i think its just a simple problem. I think you could sell it for higher

So if you have no discs is does it not run Vista? Can it not be re-installed?

How much would you be after for delivery included?
Would you post first with payment on safe receipt?

I think I'd sell it for around £200 if I knew it was perfect but we're just not sure what's up with it.

I tried a full format to see if that would help which it didn't. I didn't have a Vista disc to try putting that back on but I assumed if it won't take Win 7 it won't take Vista.

I would delivery for £12. I know I can get next day currier for that, if its cheaper sending Special delivery I will do that. I won't post before payment as I have been scammed twice by that already it seems. I would also prefer pick up so you can see it start up.

Thanks

Sorry to hear you have been scammed, not on this site I hope but I understand your wariness. It is a lot of money/PC to be down!

It is tempting and I agree with the other person, it is probably very simple but I am not sure..

Pickup would be sensible but unless you have a day trip to Aberdeen this weekend I think not from me. Good luck with the sale though :)

Hi.
No contact with any water.
Not dropped ever.
It has charger and holds good charge.
I think £125 is a very fair price.
I could meet you in birkenshaw it's not far from me at all.
Thanks

A few questions: What's the HDD size on this? What's the ghz of the processor? Any driver CDs with this?

If no driver CDs, can you direct me to where I could find the drivers as I seem to be struggling with this!

I'm interested but because of low feedback, I would like this to be posted first. I know you're wary of that but I myself have paid later on many occasions and if you ask anyone in my feedback, they'll confirm that I'm honest, reliable and will communicate frequently. You'll also of course get all of my details that you need. And to be totally honest, it's only £100, it's not a HUGE sum of money in comparison to some of the other transactions that take place on HUKD!

With that proviso in mind, I can offer you £100. And if I fix it and it works simply (and I'm an honest guy) I will pay a further £25 so you get your asking. You have my word on this that I will try. If it doesn't work, I'll simply try to get it repaired or resold. If repair is less than £25, I'll again pay you the difference.

Your call, that's a pretty good offer!

Harddrive size is 250GB
No driver CDs
Drivers would be available on the Lenovo website.

Like I mentioned before I think the price of £125 is fair.
Someone locally has mentioned they're interested and I wouldn't need to post.
I'll give them a day and then reconsider your offer, however I would need cost of posting it on top of the £125. Thank you!

You're too far for collection.

What I can offer is meeting you in the middle. Postage will be about £10. I'm happy to pay half of this.

So I'll pay £105 upon receipt.

Then a further £25 once I get this running and I fully expect it to work, I'm a bit of a computer geek!

And I would like you to link me to where I could find the particular drivers for this since I couldn't see them.

Is that a deal?

One concern I have is you say your a computer geek but you couldn't find the drivers.

I found these in less that 30 seconds from ggogle.

I guess AV1985 is more of a trader than a geek (though he has mentioned previsouly that he is a teacher) .. was selling 4 laptops almost 3 weeks back (all at ridiculous prices) ..

Yes, belonging to family. Thank you for the useless comments. A trader - look through my feedback and see the sorts of things I have bought and sold before you throw wild accusations.

I myself have a Vostro 3750. This laptop isn't for me. My brother in law (wife's brother) needs a cheap laptop for uni work but is broke as he's from abroad. I myself am leaving the country in August for two years. I'm buying everyone a gift before I go, I figure this could be a gift for him as he's not expecting it.

Thanks.

I did look but was in a rush at work and most things are blocked (for example, have only seen images now that I'm home) and that part of the Lenovo site was being blocked off. Hence why I couldn't find them.

It seems you're doubting whether I can fix this whilst I'm very confident. As a result, I'll remove my proviso of "money after it's fixed" but will offer £125 delivered (not going to contribute toward extra postage in this instance) which is almost asking. Of course, I am going to want this posted first when I have 73 feedback and you have 6.

If that's ok, fine, we can take to PM. If not, I'll look elsewhere for a laptop.

well done to all the genuine people who are advising OP on how to fix this simple problem.

Shame on those trying to rip him off

Rip him off?

He's selling a laptop, asking for £125. Some of us actually want a laptop for ourselves?!

I would like to thank gearsofwar for your advise, I wish you had got on sooner before I sold it. It really was a cracking laptop!

Can't see any sign of Maggie's offer, far less acceptance.

Could someone point out which post it is in?

AV1985's earlier offer was conditional. Maybe a mod can clarify?

Anyway I withdraw my offer/interest

Tell you what.

In a month's time, I'll take a photo of this laptop with something recent on HUKD, or maybe the newspaper.

And then the same at the end of July before I go abroad.

Will that shut you up?

I've asked for a laptop in another thread where I've specified what I want and why I want it. This isn't to sell, this is for a family member who needs a laptop.

I thought your offer was conditional with £100 now and the balance later.

I can find no reference to an offer from Maggie. You might want to raise this with a mod.

In post #22, I said I'd offer the full £125 unconditionally.

What is the problem here ?
Maggie offered and I accepted.
I met him and he paid.
Deal done.
I'm sure you who missed out can find a laptop from someone else.

The problem is this.

Nowhere in this thread has Maggy ever offered at the asking price. Infact, twice (post 11 and post 24) she says £100 is her offer. Then two offers come in at asking (post 22 and 29) by two different members. Then at post 31 you say that it is sold to Maggy at asking.

Furthermore another mod (post 32) asks for clarification of where and how this trade at asking price was agreed with Maggy. You have yet to reply to this and the PMs that he has sent again asking for clarification.

I have now locked the thread and could you please answer this outstanding issue (by using report function (not a PM) link on the right.)

Thanks for clarification ski_haggis
