For Sale: Modded Nintendo Wii with extras

As topic really. Selling my Wii as I don't play on it as much as I thought I would and, even with the games due out, I don't see myself using it much then.

So it's a PAL Wii (fully boxed), fitted with a Wiikey, with a component cable to hook up to your HDTV, 1 official Gamecube pad, 1 unofficial Gamecube pad and 2 official Gamecube memory cards, also Wii Sports and the usual controllers and sensor bar.

I'm after £250 for the lot and would prefer pickup from Liverpool, UK, though postage can be arranged if needed.

Does the Wiikey work with the recent firmware release? Or does updating the firmware render the "mod chip" useless?

Furthermore, where was the Wiikey fitted & does it come with any warranty? I know some "mod chip" installers that offer warranty on the whole console after installation as the manufacturer's original warranty has been voided due to opening the console unit.

Thanks for your clarification.

Hi Fanpages, I haven't updated to the 3.0 firmware yet (Haven't played on it in ages, hence not being on it to update) but I believe the only chip which is being affected is the OpenWii chip. I can certainly update to 3.0 before a purchase though.

I sent my Wii off to a guy from www.cheapmod.net forums named WillieWonka, he didn't say anything about a warranty, I've never heard of modchip fitters giving warranty's though I must say.

If anymore info is needed, feel free to ask again :)

Probably the best forums to check for issues with 3.0 is GBATemp and MaxConsole, but it doesn't seem to be very widespread at all.

I'll certainly ensure my Wii runs on 3.0 before selling anyway, would be a bit off to sell it and have someone upgrade if it did brick the console (I believe Wiikey's work fine on 3.0 anyway tho) :)

Would also consider trading for a XBox 360 Premium with receipt and under 12 month warranty

Hasn't Microsoft offered 3 years warranty on all Xbox 360s now?
