For Sale: PC Base Unit, £170 collected (York)

Hi all, I bought a computer during the Google-checkout madness for the living room but its not being used much and I could do with the money so I'm offering it for sale here. Its only a few months old, all parts still have several months manufacturers warranty and is very clean etc.

[* Abit SG95 Motherboard (Skt 775, PCI-E, mATX, 7.1 sound)
[* Maxtor 160GB HDD (Sata, 2MB cache)
[* Kingston 1GB Memory (2x512MB, DDR2-667, CL5)
[* Celeron D 326 CPU (2.53GHz, Skt 775, 256kB Cache, EMT64)
[* LiteOn DVD-RW (20x, black)
[* Antec NSK4000 Case (black, mini-tower)
[* ATI Radeon X800GT All-In-Wonder Graphics (PCI-E,128MB)
[* Also 350W PSU and a Cherry wireless keyboard and mouse.

The graphics card includes a DVB-T (digital TV) and analogue TV tuner and a RF remote control (can be used as a mouse pointer/media centre controller). Unfortunately their aren't Vista drivers for it, but I do also have an ATI Radeon X1600 (256Mb) I can offer as a Vista-ready alternative (no TV). Or if you don't play games or have your own card, I will sell it without the graphics card. Sorry I have no OS license for this but will happily help your transfer/install OS of your choice if you can collect.

As described above I'm asking £170 if you can collect from York, although I will consider using a courier if nobody local wants it.

Just to add - I know the Celeron CPU isn't very good but the motherboard (I think) will take any 800MHz Intel Socket 775 CPU which includes Core 2 chips. There are dual-core Pentiums available for under £50 and I am happy to sell the system without CPU or alternatively order one of these and fit it (I'd be looking to get £200 collected with said chip).

Also I have a 2GB kit of Corsair RAM which I'm not using which I will swap for the RAM in the system if you want for an extra £25.

Feel free to ask any questions or request more photos etc...

Hey would you take £25 for the 2 gig Corsair ram on its own? and what speed is it.
:-D Sorry mate, its not £25 on its own, but £25 on top of the above price to swap the 1GB for 2GB. Not really desperate to sell the ram on its own (its 667Mhz DDR2 by the way)
Dang as I need some ram for my PC, lol
If I sell this system I'll probably sell the RAM thats left over but don't want to sell on its own just yet as I'm not sure which set (1GB or 2GB) the buyer will want. There is still Corsair XMS stuff on ebuyer for £52 which is very good ram (even if it has gone up in price since GC finished).
Price drop - £160 as described, £220 with Pentium E-2140 (dual-core) fitted and 2GB of ram.

If you collect you can have a free CRT monitor if you want, or I have a 19" TFT monitor that I would be prepared to sell.
Final price drop/bump £150 with the Celeron (collection only, sorry), or £170 with 2GB of ram.

24 hours only, otherwise I'm going to close the thread and order a dual-core CPU for it, and will give it a repost here before probably going the ebay route...
how much do you think delivery would be? also, have you got anymore details on the 19" tft?
would it only be possible to use a 2140/2160 with this board because of the fsb?
that might be the only thing that would put me off since the board probably doesnt clock that well.
all that said though, this is a decent system for the money. i mean compared to some of the old school stuff you see floating around here, yours has a good spec.
not a bad price but lets face it, people cant compete with dell thats why im keeping my machine. Their buying power is so huge!!

Motherboard takes any 533/800MHz CPU. Abits website says it works with the faster ones but at a limited bus speed (hence I wouldn't buy anything better than a Core2 4xx0 series). Personally I reckon the 2140 is the best chip for it as it balances the other components very well - the motherboard probably isn't the best overclocker but it will at least be better than a Dell system in this regard.

19" TFT is an Acer AL1913 (1280x1024), not the newest model but still in warranty. Would be looking to get £70 for it (but I'm only going to sell it with the system, not seperately, need the money to buy a nice 22" model!).

Ommid - hear what you are saying and its true to an extent, although I reckon the price I'm offering is very competitive; compare the £220 spec above to say the current Dell Vostro 200 base unit for £244:

I'm offering Pentium 2140, 2GB ram, 160GB hdd and either X800 AIW or X1600.
The Vostro has same cpu, 1GB ram, 320GB hdd and X1300 GPU. So the system I'm offering in signifcantly better in 3d graphics performance and ram albeit with a lot smaller hard drive (I'm also throwing in a decent wireless desktop set). But of course Dell have an XP license, which would cost around £50 to buy. However, I'm prepared to spend time setting up the PC as the buyer requires and transfer data\settings from an old system (if they bring it with them) etc and the buyer may well already have a legimate OS license they can transfer.

Anyhow, I'm still open to offers if you believe the price is too high :)
Right, I'm going to make an order later this evening and will upgrade the CPU, but before I do, one final final price drop! Remember everything is nearly new and these prices are a good £50 off new price (see links in first post).

System with Celeron + 1GB ram + on-board graphics £120
System with Celeron + 1GB ram + either graphics card £145
System with Celeron + 2GB ram + either graphics card £165

If I don't hear anything by 6pm I'll have this thread closed. Thanks ;-)
