I'm selling my spare computer as it's just sat around doing nothing at the moment.

Full specs:

Pentium 4 2.8 GHz (SL7EY)
1.5gb DDR ram (1gb + 512mb)
Nvidia GeForce 6200 128mb AGP graphics
330gb hard drives (250gb + 80gb)
SoundBlaster Live! sound card
DVD-RW
Windows XP Home*
Onboard LAN connection

*I made a copy of my original CD and did a new copy with SP2 integrated, and stupidly managed to lose the original as I didn't use it for ages. I will include the copy including SP2. The license key on the case is 100% genuine, I've done a fresh install using that key to activate (don't worry, my new machine is not using this). Picture of the key included at the end of this post.

The DVD-RW might need replacing soon due to age, but I had been thinking that for ages before buying the new machine so it might be fine for a while yet. I've burnt data DVDs to move things onto my new computer, and used the drive to install XP, so it is working fine still.

Here are a few pictures, sorry for the shoddy picture quality (and the mess!) as they were taken on my phone.

Make sure to package it well, DHL love breaking computers.

Oh really? Thanks for that. I may use a different courier then, or (maybe more likely) take out the insurance option to cover the cost.

Edit: If the buyer prefers FedEx then I'd be happy to use that as an alternative.

Bump. If there's no interest by tonight I'll probably take it down.

Last time I'll check this before the morning, it'll be off to CEX after that if no-one's interested.

Price drop too, any lower than this and I'll be worse off than if I took it there.

ill ofer £30, this is an old pc. using extremely old tech' ddr1, agp etc. useless for anything other than listenening to music and surfing internet, and this is just the tower, so £30 for a second hand extremely old pc.

That's a low-ball offer and unfair. The parts of the pc are worth far more than £30, no matter how old. And you've been making the same kind of low-ball offers in other threads. Everyone wants a bargain but you'll only annoy people if you consistently try to undervalue items (you did the same in my thread offering £150 for a laptop which sold at £210 asking).

Good luck with the sale dean

i just dont have the money to be wasting on things, i dont need another pc. an old couple down my road want to get broadband and a decent pc so they can sell stuff on ebay, was going ot give them one of my old ones, but this seems to be a little better. and i don't think £30 is a low ball offer, on fleabay these computers go for pennies on auctions if they even sell at all! nobody needs nor wants them with all the latest technology becoming so cheap.

This probably won't come as a shock to you, but I'm going to decline. I've been quoted £97 if I take it to Cex (stinking hangover today so I haven't taken it as planned) so I think £30 is a little on the low side!

I know the parts are old, but this processor alone sells for around £25-£30 on eBay due to it being the fastest 400 FSB processor available. Add to that DDR ram (which still holds it's price well), hard drives, graphics, XP etc and it all comes in well above £30.

I dont know how anyone can justify claiming this is worth £30. It might not be top spec but 80% of people want a computer that is fast enough, not the fastest. To a person wanting a basic pc this is easily worth more than £30.

Good luck with your sale!

1.5GB of DDR ram would cost almost £30 alone these days.

£30 is a low ball offer and you know that.

Seeing as you are so aware of technology and its worth, how come you always ask top dollar prices for the **** you try and sell and compare to Ebay values.

If you can get this from Ebay for £30 I suggest you do just that.

Sorry OP

EDIT
-------

This pc would also make a very tidy media pc so I would suggest keeping zip about things you clearly know nothing about.

Vent over.

If I didn't have 7 PCs already, I'd have offered near asking, dean_brfc. So I'm sure someone will snap this up.

Thanks to everyone who posted here after the low ball offer. :)

Due to my hangover/laziness on Saturday, I won't be able to take this until this weekend now, so it remains for sell until then if anyone's interested.

Edit: Or maybe not as the thread's expired. How do I unexpire this?

Threads locked. If in any doubt about posting another thread for the same item, please report your post for consideration.

(19) When a thread is expired, closed or removed from the FS forum, the same items must NOT be relisted until a period of at least SEVEN DAYS has passed from the date it's closed and expired. Those same items must NOT be listed or offered in ANY other active thread. * It's YOUR responsibility to use the 'report' button http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/361599/for-sale-pentium-4-2-8ghz-1-5gb-ram/../../../forums/images/custom_buttons/report.gif to have your active threads closed BEFORE relisting.

Thanks for the report, unfortunately the thread will have to remain locked for the reasons previously stated. You still have CEX as an option by the looks of things. If the deal with CEX falls through, remember the 7 day relist rule. Regards.
