I have my Philips X56 Freevents ultra portable laptop available for sale as I need the money to fund a project of mine.

The specs are:

12.1" WXGA gloss widescreen LCD screen
T5600 1.86GHz intel core 2 duo processor
1024MB RAM (upgradeable)
CD-RW/DVD+-RW
Intel wireless LAN (802.11g)
56K modem
80GB 2.5" sata HDD
Card reader
Microphone
Stereo speakers
1 x firewire
3 x USB
1 x express card slot
VGA port
Windows Vista Premium (will also include XP Media Centre if required)
Carry case
Optical mouse

Fantastic condition, with only a minor rub mark on the touch pad mouse where it has been used. It's extremely portable and lightweight and is a very powerful unit. Bought it new for £699 not so long ago.

Would prefer bank transfer for this - feedback is there for all to see :D

with vista that amount of ram makes it not fast, but slow, barely 700mb if your lucky i would recomend lower pcrice significantly as you can get a much better deal on here, saw a 4GB ram 9800GT graphics and 6200AMD+ on here go for £320, and thats pretty much TOP spec, Lol...

that was a desktop, this is a tiny laptop. like a netbook but better as it has a dvd drive as well as a 12" screen. Your comparison is flawed.

I would prefer not to have spoiling in my thread if at all possible please.

I prefer XP on my laptop (which I have the disc for) but Vista runs just as well - I've never had any problems.

You interested Shane?:D

Yep beat me to it as well! :)

I've always said on this forum that I price my items how I would expect to buy them myself. This is a very powerful laptop for its size and is extremely portable - it will hopefully suit someone :)

Bump!
#14
Still no interest?

Might accept trades and offers, if nothing by tomorrow lunchtime then will be put on eBay

if it goes for around £200 are you gonna be as annoyed as me?

Probably!!

To be honest I'd rather keep it then let it go for under £250 - its worth far more to me than that. If I sell it on eBay then I would definitely put a reserve on it so that it won't go for less than its worth.

Would you be interested at £250 with a part exchange deal plus cash or other items for your Dell?

I have a 80GB iPod classic, a Sony Ericsson w850i mobile phone. I've got around £100 spare at the moment so would prefer a combination of things to trade for it if possible

could i see some pics of the ipod? does it have any warranty?
#24
Pics of the iPod here buddy:

No warranty on the iPod but as with the laptop is put under house contents insurance for approx £1.25 per month. Has been used once and is scratch free on the front casing and screen due to it having an invisible shield on it. Also comes complete with box and standard accessories (but no headphones I'm afraid)
#25
Forgot to say that the laptop already has Microsoft Office on it too :)

Haha, no problem mate - I would be lost without Office. I'm an accountant and Excel is my passion!!

Thats fine, just let me know when your ready

EDIT: I also have a super-protective case for the iPod that retails for £20 brand new (the name escapes me but is a very high quality case). I don't use it on the iPod and have only put it on the iPod to check how it fit - its like a gel rubber case. You can have that for £10 with the package if you want (reducing the cash amount to £40)

Laptops, desktops and netbooks are each completely different... laptops and netbooks are more expensive.....

Your calling an AMD 6200+ fast - fwf go get a Intel Core Quad Q6600 ... AMD stinks.... lol - anyway also the 8800gt(availible for only £46.95) is simply the same as the 9800gt series... Go get a GTX280 or a HD4870X2....

lol... no offense but your comparison was a little inaccurate.

I would have said yes mate, but that was in the summer break from uni when I was desperate for the money. Now that I'm back I have my student loan again! My aforementioned offer is the best that I can do bud
#35
still thinking hard on this.
i like the idea of a small laptop with a dvd drive, and i have never owned an ipod. Couple things stop me from jumping in are..the laptop charger, ive owned a philips and the charger was of poor quality, i have had other twinhead based laptops with the same poor quality charger and i worry that this will suffer the same loose connection in the jack. Also its a one memory slot, so i need to purchase a 2gb ram stick. And no earphones. the ipod is gonna sit a while whilst i buy a set.

Decisions decisions.
#36
I thought you already said that you had a pair of earphones?

My last laptop (which was a Toshiba) became unuseable due to the charger jack becoming loose. I must admit that with my Philips I have not had a sniff of a problem. When used with the charger its perfect, although I mostly use it with the battery attached. I have a feeling that there are two memory slots so you could use 2 x 1GB sticks of RAM

my headphones are bluetooth. they dont have a 3.5mm jack. And the laptop definately has only 1 slot. i have been doing quite a bit of research.

Ah right I see! Ok, thats fair enough. To be honest it runs perfectly for me and I've never looked into upgrading the memory which probably explains my incorrect though!

If we were to reach a deal, could you possibly chip my nephew's PSP for him? I know his parents are getting a bit bored of forking out lots of money for the games!
