*** EDIT ***

This item has been sold

*** /EDIT ***

I've just got a TomTom Go 510 unit which I'm not going to use - it's brand new and the package comes with accessories such as cigarette lighter adapter, a mains adapter (with replaceable socket connections for foreign countries), an external microphone, and a protective carry case.

The unit itself is a really nice piece of kit, with a bright screen - I've switched the unit on just to make sure it works and it does work really well. It's bigger than the TomTom One I have but it has a load of extra features such as Hands free communications with a bluetooth mobile phone, the sending of SMS texts and reading replies on the screen, and even ipod controlling (with an extra cable, which they make you buy separately unfortunately). The screen appears to be sharper than the TomTom One too, and according to the specs, has a battery that lasts twice as long.

Looking for £215 all inclusive (which is less than what I paid for it plus I had to go collect!). Feel free to contact me here or email me on [email protected] .

EDIT:

I've just taken a photo of the unit with all the gubbins included in the package. Apologies for the delay, I had to blur out the code on the registration card!

Hi
am very interested, but think that £215 is a bit much (they are £224 from tecno.co.uk) - would you be interested in a lower price?
#4
Make me an offer and I'll see what I can do. I think I'm resigned to the fact I'll be making a loss on it. Let me know where you're based too, it may be possible to reduce the price if you can collect.
#5
Where are you located?
#6
Guess I should have mentioned that! I'm in Morden, Surrey. For £215 I'll send it special delivery. It came in quite a large box with padding to protect the actual unit's box.

I can offer £170 cash collected mate - I live in croydon so can jump on the tram or tube or you can meeet me in Wimbledon?
#8
£170?? I was a bit cut by that to be honest - I can't afford to lose over £50 for something I only just picked up from the shop a week and a half ago! I could maybe go down to £200.

I work in Croydon btw.
#9
Just out of interest why are you selling?Surely if you bought it from the shop last week you could get a full refund on it.
#10
Unfortunately it was bought from Dixons who won't accept it if we've already opened the box.

We bought it with the intention of keeping it and then the missus saw the TomTom ONE and preferred it's portability (typical). So we bought the TomTom one and tried to return the 510 but were told if there was no problem with the unit then we weren't allowed to get a refund.

So we called again saying we had a problem and then we were told to go through TomTom directly, and if they were unable to fix the problem then they would replace it. "argh!".

Bump for natashasprite

Thanks for the bump dinosteveus! However, I've just promised it to a colleague who'll get to use it for the Easter weekend. A double result :)

So just to clarify, the item has now been sold!

Never heard of a retailer refusing to refund an item just because it has been opened.

I've had a few problems with Dixons/Currys/PCworld/Game with things that have been opened. I could probably go back to them and demand I get my money back, but I've never been good at arguing with retailers. I suppose to be fair we had opened up the main unit's packaging and the seal on the SD card (to test the unit), but even so, we still did buy our replacement TomTom One from them too.

I've had a problem trying to return a DVD player to Currys and I'm very good at arguing. I was offered another item at the same price but I kept the DVD player and left.
