For XBOX 360 users, this card is the VT6421A (6421A) chipset. The only difference between the VT6421A and VT6421L is that the VT6421A requires MTKFlash (flash) to hexedit the port I/O's. If you use Xtreme Boot Maker, XBM will do this for you automatically with this chipset (VT6421L).This is the preferred VIA SATA chipset used to flash xbox 360 consoles in order for them to play backup games. Brand new in box with installation CD and a SATA cable. Looking for £30 delivered (this model was especially imported from the states to flash my 360 but i now have a spare)

Concerning the pricing on the SATA card.

A thread was posted on the hot deal forum HERE

For this card HERE

It's roughly £6 shipped to the uk, no import duty as it's under £18.

Unfortunatly Godspeed you are wrong. Notice the title of the other card is:

SATA card for £6 (VIA6421A Chipset) - useful for flashing XBOX360s...

And my one is the VIA6421L in which is the preferred chipset (sais a geek from where i purchased) and i had it shipped from america for £30 paypal, now that i don't have a 360 i have no use for it. I don't believe anybody is shipping VIA6421L's anymore as they are a bit more expensive than VIA6421A's.

But both cards do the same thing if you want to use them with an xbox 360 so i am guessing a £6 card is more appealing than a £20 - £30 card.

Anything is only worth what someone is willing to pay.

Actually the data transfer with the chipset i have is three times as fast as the 6421A. Also the 6421A doesn't support mtkflash whereas the chipset i own does. Mtkflash is recommended more than the bad flash option as there's less chance of a 360 owner damaging the software on the console whilst flashing. So paying a little more money could save your say £200 - £300 console?

For XBOX 360 users, this card is the VT6421A (6421A) chipset. The only difference between the VT6421A and VT6421L is that the VT6421A requires MTKFlash (flash) to hexedit the port I/O's.

Unfortunately iDeal your totally contradicting yourself and changing the chipset spec of your card in each post.

So in your first post its a VT6421A, which you say needs hexediting. But the other thread says the VT6421A does'nt need hex editing. Then you say its a VT6421L which does'nt?

:? ???

Also the 6421A doesn't support mtkflash

It does:

VIA VT 6421A PCI SATA Card
This card is similar to the 6421L. The only difference is MTKFlash also needs the port I/O's hexedited as well.

The card isn't hard to get and not much more expensive (Newegg $13.99), the trouble is getting someone to ship it to you.

And flashing the XBox isn't as straight forward (not hard but....) as it's made out to be as it does make a difference what HD is installed.

The VT6421A is also avalable in the UK for £6.99.

Don't want to dampen your sale but you wouldn't want to be seen to overcharge someone because of bad information, would you! or maybe easier to (clarify) supply a pic of the chip itself as it states on them what 'version' it is.

If anyone is interested in 'flashing' their 360 download this and read it: Twice!

Someone want's to be a mod.. :whistling:

Anyway, i'll lower the price to £14.99

Oh and none of my threads on this chipset is VT6421L
