im tempted but would obviously need a lens as well, im new to this slr business...... is this a good beginner camera?

It was considered as a professional camera when it came out as it cost BIG BIG Bucks.
But it has a fully automatic mode - which enables a chimp to produce magnificent photographs.

Read dpreview.com for a review of the camera.

This takes EOS system lens and EF-S lens which was developed for the newer Canon cameras.

You can pick up an older EOS Zoom lens for under £50 which will give you very good results.
SIgma and Tamron also do compatible lenses.

The 20D still holds it's own in technological terms.

i know its wrong to compare with the popular auction site, but one of canon 20d plus a lens and bag went for for less than my asking price for the camcorder.

For a straight swap i would be looking for a bog standard lens too, the camera would be ideal for me, exactly what im looking for.

I appreciate the offer and i'll keep it in mind, will get back to you later.

thanks
