This is a great example of a Mahogany occasional side table. This is circa 1850's. It has had some old restoration work carried out on the feet, as can be seen by the metal strips on the photos. There is a crack at the top and bottom of the main spindle. More photos available (only 2 can be submitted on here) or see Ebay item 330439281252).
It has recently been stripped and lightly oiled. There are quite a few marks on the top due to is age (150 years!). It could be stripped back further to remove these marks but these add to the character of this lovely piece. There is what appears to be an 'extra' piece of wood on the bottom of one foot. It is not uncommon for tables of this age to have the feet replaced but the original part looks the same height as the other 2 feet (could easily be removed if desired), but the good thing about 3 legged tables is that they never wobble unlike 4 legged tables.
Dimensions: The top measures 59cm by 60cm (in the grain direction) and stands 73cm tall.
