This Macbook Pro was bought in October 2007 and so is just over 2 years old.

Specs:

2.2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Processor
2GB DDR2 667MHz SDRAM
120GB HDD
128MB GeForce 8600M GT

There are a couple of minor problems with it. The original battery no longer holds a charge so it has to be plugged in at all time unless another battery is installed for it. These can be picked up for £40 on eBay.

It also has trouble burning CDs although reading CDs and DVDs works fine. It has some minor cosmetic damage to the casing, a small dent near the power button and a severe dent where the lid clicks shut. The lid no longer clicks shut as a result.

Apart from this the laptop runs like a dream and is running OS X 10.5 Leopard.

The reason I'm looking to sell this is because I'm thinking about building a Hackintosh (a PC that can run Mac OSX) and would like to get an idea of the sort of money I could get for my current Macbook Pro.

If it's a good enough price then I'll go ahead and sell it and build my own PC. I've set the initial price at £450 and despite some minor problems I still think this laptop is worth that compared to other laptops you could buy at this price point.

I would bundle in an apple remote and an apple wireless mighty mouse.
Shipping/Payment:
Pickup from Hornchurch, Essex or Farnham, Surrey. If not courier will be about £10 I think.

wow that dent is pretty bad

I know. Laptop still works fine though.
#4
has this been dropped ?
#5
No, I was installing a shelf, and it fell!

The corners of the shelf landed where you can see the damage, and by the power button. As I've said it's cosmetic damage, the laptop is fine.

IS £450 your best price please?
#7
I might be interested if your drop the price ?

What sort of price would you be looking at?

Closer to the £400 mark maybe, i mean the laptop seems on its way out , so im thinking of a fair price to offer.

At the risk of someone offering more, I will offer £325 ish considering what its gonna cost to get it up to a decent condition and spec -thats getting battery, a new case/shell, more ram and bigger hard drive (the latter my personal preference)

If you anywhere close to my journey between Cambridge and SwanseaI could collect and pay cash tomorrow / Wed (weather/snow permitting) Stu

Spobby, £400 sounds fair. At this point I'm just getting an idea of what this would go for, as if it's not the amount I was looking for then there's no point in me selling it.

I also have a dissertation to write first that's due in on 25th January, so wouldn't be selling it before then anyway.

I'll keep you updated on what I'm doing.

25th jan? thats a bit of a wait mate, i'd probs look towards paying less than £400 tbh, As i could get a dell laptop and do hackingtosh on that for around that mark.
