I agreed at 19.17 and muuto at 19.18

Muuto do you need this book immediately as i will only need it for a week and then i would be happy to sell to you after this

yeah same...but problem was that bob had counter offered, and also seller can deal with who they want i believe (if that rule still stands...seem to get updated every week atm).

But you made the offer of £4 to him again and he accepted...

... and this from buyer here

muutoo
sorry to butt in on the thread, but if bob100 isn't interested in your book then I would be. :)

Based on this, I would have thought muutoo should give way, irrespective of the your preference to sell three together.

EDIT: But your choice ultimately - I'm outtahere

isn't postage done by weight? So wouldn't it be roughly the same, for postage

Also has muuto considered my proposal?

But in my legal eyes, i offered to sell at £4 and bob counter offered thus extinguishing the original offer. Furthered by any preference to deal with whom you please especially after that.

Weight and per item though...

Either way ive asked ScottishBloke to come and have a look and give us an answer on the matter

Thanks i don't want to make a big deal about this, its just i really needed that book, and it just seems unfair that this has happened.

I was quite clearly interested in the book and i did agree on the other thread a minute before muutoo agreed on here.

Also muutoo gave me preference and said if i didn't want the book then he/she would be interested

You seemed to make the offer to him again: You offered, he countered, you offered again, he accepted.

awoodhall2003
£4 delivered, it really is in good condition, and can pop it first class post tomorrow for you

bob100
Willing to do it for £3 and i'll pay immediately? :-)

awoodhall2003
Afraid £4 strictly unless wanting all 3:

£11 delivered...thus mutoo if interested there advertised there as well

bob100
ok deal £4, taking to pm

post tomorrow immediately 1st class as well please

And if your 'legal eyes' don't see this, it might explain why people don't trust lawyers! :p

p.s. and how legal are your eyes anyway? You hardly seem to have studied these books based on condition :)
suspended#12
do you wear glasses? your legal eyes are not as good as they should be

you made the £4 offer, he accepted - but then you decided you wished to sell them together - bob didn't extinguish anything - you went ahead and secured a deal with someone else without revoking your previous offer to bob

also, forget the contract aspect - it's poor form and disappointing under the circumstances, you would be doing him a favour and if muutoo is happy to step aside, i don't see the problem

nah i tend to use the REAL books for studying from, and these just as quick reference...

he didnt accepted he counter offered...:whistling:
a favour...exactly, and thus why i originally posted...

But once again...lets let the mods take care of it...their decision shall be final!

you are gonna have to try harder than that to convince people that was a counter offer

'ok deal £4, taking to pm' - how can that possibly be a counter offer? - feel free to apply the reasonable man test and see what happens

not exactly a favour now is it - when you go back on your promise

wasnt a promise though was it? reasonable man test? good luck this is HUKDs...not all the rules here work the same as legal tests im afraid...awaiting moderation comments on final word...

You need to learn to read those books as well as your posts. And as jonnyq has said in not so many words, this is also a matter of ethics. Haven't you got to that chapter yet? :whistling:
suspended#17
reasonable man part was a joke

irrespective of what the mods say, we both know it - and so do other people - you said £4 and he accepted

poor form and you will no doubt spin it to justify what you did

One minute your legal eyes are the test, the next minute legality doesn't apply to HUKD in your suddenly non-legal eyes. Flip-flop, flip-flop, flip-flop :)
#21
guess i will have to leave it as the mod seems to favour you, which i think is wrong.

Anyway Thanks Jonnyq and Liddle ol'me for supporting me

they favour the rules, not me. I have been on the otherwise of the rules many times.

i'm not your mate

the mods word is final but that's cos you spun it to help justify your reasons

i sincerely hope you don't go into practice - feel free to sue me for defamation for saying this - what you did was go back on your offer after acceptance took place, it was unethical and you know it

Your welcome. Anyway, it was bad form - let's see how the third party responds. Will he do the decent thing I wonder..?

I already sent a pm and said on this thread that i only need the book for a week and i would send it on after then but he/she hasn't replied back
#26
and btw OP, I don't appreciate what you just said in a PM to me. If you have some slur to make, at least be brave enough to do it in the open.

well no because guess what a FS/FT thread isnt for that purpose is it?

Neither this thread nor private messages is the place for you to make a claim against my honesty (or whatever it was you were implying with that sly reference to a trade of mine), which is what your PM amounted to. And you might take your own advice into consideration in future as you often jump into other threads to give advice about the rules, etc. I'll take it you will never do that again and "leave the mods to do their jobs"

Apologies for the delay in responding - my account was suspended for 24 hours for breaking the rules (threadjacking bob100's original thread) - which I apologise for.

As I stated originally in that thread, I'm happy to let bob100 have the book he was interested in, as it was his thread. Unfortunately I can't decide who awoodhall2003 decides to deal with - the rules state that he can deal with whoever he chooses.

As it currently stands, I have not made any kind of payment for any of these books and will hold off doing so until both bob100 and awoodhall2003 have had a chance to respond. So far as I am concerned, I'm happy for the book to be sold to bob100 if this is the seller's wish. :)

Meanwhile, my offer for the three books offered in this thread remains - if bob100 does not buy the one he originally asked for then I will still have all three.

Edit - Just had an update from awoodhall - as I now understand it, I'm just buying the 2 that bob100 didn't want for now, and will buy the other from bob100 once it's been finished with. :) Everybody happy!!
